Chaplain’s Message

I wonder if you would take a moment to answer this question. And I know you have a moment because you’re reading this message.

What has been the highlight of your week just gone, or one good thing that happened to you?

Generally, when I ask that question, there is quite a pause to think of something. Isn’t that sad? So, I challenged myself to reflect on the highlight, or that good thing, every day. I issue the same challenge to you.

There are good things every day, and I’d like to share with you something special that happened to me that I learned important lessons from, and experienced God’s provision.

I was waiting to cross at a set of lights, when a homeless man (we’ll call him Jack) approached from the side and stood in front of the man next to me who withdrew somewhat as if he may catch something. The homeless man was carrying his worldly possessions on his back, was slightly stooped and filthy. I couldn’t see his face because of his lengthy unwashed hair. As we began walking, I said to him “G’day mate, how are you doing?” he responded to me with the biggest smile, baring his rotten teeth, and replied with a bright, cheery voice; “Good thanks mate, but it was a bit cold last night”. I asked him if he would like something to eat. “No thanks, I’m just going to get a cup of coffee”. I told him to come with me and I would buy him one.

While he was making his cuppa, a man in the line-up asked me if I was taking donations for The Salvation army. I told him I was happy to receive his donation of $5.

Jack had his coffee, and I checked again, whether he wanted anything to eat. He didn’t, so I turned to pay for his coffee and realized I didn’t have my wallet with me. OH NO! then I instantly remembered the $5 a man gave me seconds beforehand (Thank You Lord). I could have been in real trouble if he wanted something to eat as well.

I went to the counter and told the man that I wanted to pay for Jack’s $3 coffee. The shopkeeper looked at Jack and said to me “Don’t worry about it mate, it’s all good.”. I shook his hand and thanked him for his kindness. I turned to leave, and the customer before me handed me a large Mars bar to give to Jack as well. I pray that made Jack’s day.

That was the highlight of my week, because I met an amazing man, who for all the reasons in the world, should have been miserable, angry, and grumpy, but wasn’t. I learned a huge lesson that day to be thankful for everything I have, and to always be joyful.

God’s provision: I ask God every day to go before me and plan my steps for that day. He planned for me to meet Jack that day, at that time and at that spot. He knew that I had forgotten my wallet and that I would need money if I was to pay for Jack’s coffee. He worked in the heart of the Shopkeeper, and the man who gave Jack a Mars bar.

I was the one who was blessed that day, along with those who helped Jack I believe. He lifted my spirits and made my day.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:

“Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Heavenly Father, thank You that You love and care for us. Help us to trust You with our everyday and be thankful and joyful in all situations. Help us to draw near to You and bless us I pray.

Wonderful account From Book Of '2nd Peter'

Image

About three years after he wrote his first letter, the apostle Peter writes a second letter, in which he expresses alarm about the false teachers who have invaded the churches of Asia Minor. They have already caused many problems, and Peter foresees that their false teaching and immoral lifestyle will continue to have a disastrous effect on the churches they have infiltrated. Therefore, as a last will and testament. Peter writes this letter from his prison cell to warn believers about the dangers of false teachers. To be prepared for what’s coming, his readers need to know a few things.

While 1 Peter speaks of the new birth through the living word.

2 Peter stresses the need for growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The best way to overcome error is a mature understanding of the truth.

There are three parts to 2 Peter 1. The cultivation of Christian character {Chapter 1}

2. Condemnation of the false teachers {Chapter 2}

3. The confidence in the return of Jesus {Chapter3}

Peter urges people to grow in faith and their knowledge of the truth found in the Word of God.

It is important to point out that it isn’t the Bible that converts people. The first Christians didn’t have a Bible as we know it. It is the Gospel that is “the Power of God to Salvation”. it was the spoken word that converted the early Christians.

IT WAS WITNESSING BY WHICH THE PEOPLE CAME TO SALVATION, WITNESSING THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL.

Peter condemnation of the false teachers describes their immoral lifestyles, the futility and destructiveness of their teachings, and the certainty their destruction and judgement by God.

In light of the coming back of the Lord, Peter exhorts his readers to live lives of holiness. steadfastness, and growth.

HOLINESS; Attributes of God that signifies God’s transcendence {Beyond the ordinary}. Also a quality that should be in the people of God {beyond the ordinary}

STEADFASTNESS The quality of being firmly and resolutely committed.

GROWTH Which will result by practicing spiritual disciplines.

Read 2 Peter and enjoy

God Bless

Wisdom has set up her 7 pillars

Proverbs 9 verse 1 says “Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars”.

I found this very interesting that there were 7 pillars that wisdom had used to build her house. Then over a process of time, in my own reading and personal study of the bible, I found James Chapter 3 verse 16 and 17 talked about the two types of wisdom.

Verse 13 talks of good works done in the meekness of wisdom.

Verse 16 describes one type of wisdom as earthly, sensual, and demonic. This type is seen is envy and self-seeking, and where brings confusion.

Verse 17 however speak of the beautiful wisdom that comes from above. Such a beautiful description of one that is Godly. These attributes called “pure (undefiled), peaceable, gentle (courteous and considerate), willing to yield (to reason), fully of mercy (compassion) and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”

So as I meditate on these two scriptures, Proverbs 9 verse 1 and James 3 verse 17, I am both challenged and encouraged to allow Holy Spirit to build not only my own life, but also to flow through me into the lives of my children and grandchildren: and into the community around us.

Faith In Action "Not Easily Deceived'

Image

Knowing God’s puts an end to Satan’s deception and accusations; If His heart had really been known in the garden of Eden, things could have been so different.

Satan slithered {best way to describe his moments} into the garden and accusingly question God’s heart.

Make no mistake Satan is a deceiver, it is really the only thing in his bag of tricks. He asks questions which make us question, But our faith in Our Lord and Our Friend, we should be ready, with the response that will turn him away.

‘God is Good, ‘ Creation declared.

‘Is God really’ Satan Questions.

The evil one, {deluded by self importance. which is a trap for us all} continues questioning, accusing, deceiving throughout all of human history.

But human history and our own stories stand as witnesses to the truth.

John 8 Verse 32: You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free”.

A freedom that will expose the deception of the evil one.

God is good, and we were created for relationship with Him.

The last verse of the Bible, Revelation 22 verse 21:

“The Grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

God is good, His Grace is with us all the time. and is sufficient for all our needs.

2 Corinthians 12 verse 9: “But He said to me. ‘My Grace i sufficient for you”.

God is good, “ALL THE TIME” do not let ourselves be deceived, just ‘Dare to believe. what God has provide for us.

His Grace Is Sufficient in All We Do

Image

How sad it is that we spend so much of our time and energy, seeking satisfaction from money and possessions, and so  little time seeking after God?  After all He is the true source of our contentment.

Solomon devoted much of his life to obtaining great riches and acquisitions From Ecclesiastes 2 verse 10 & 11:

“Whatever my eyes desired i did not keep from them”.

Yet Solomon goes on to say, from what he conclude about his riches and acquisitions.

‘I found everything to be futile and a pursuit of the wind.”

Luke 12 verse 15: “He {Jesus} told them, ‘Watch out and be on guard against all greed because one’s life is not in the abundance of processions’.”

Hebrews 13 verse 5; “Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He himself has said, ‘I will.never leave you or forsake you’.”

Proverbs 11 verse 28: “Anyone trusting in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.”

Mathew 6 verse 31 to 33: v31 “So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ v32 For the idolaters eagerly seek all these thing, and your Heavenly father knows that you need them. v33But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you’.”

What a wonderful Scripture, on  such a misunderstood and such a difficult subject.

To know what The Apostle Paul knew, when He said in:

2 Corinthians 12 verse 9; “For His Grace is more than enough for us”.

God riches at Christ Jesus expense, is more than enough, to make us content in our journey through life.

God Bless.

Scripture Verse Of The Week

Image

Deuteronomy 31 verse 6: “Be Strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.”

A promise of God, He will not leave you or forsake you, as our doubts cause us to reach for Our Lord and Our Friend, we will find He is always there.

Be Strong; Be Courageous;

Don’t be terrified, Don’t be afraid.

Hebrews 13 verse 6: Tells us why we also can Be strong and courageous, because The Lord is our helper. He is always there, and He is always there to help.

“Therefore, we may boldly say; The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid, What can man do to me”.

There we can boldly say, we are not afraid and we can’t be terrified, because Our  Ever-present God is with us in any situation, no matter where we are.

Deuteronomy 31 verse 6; is a scripture that should be remembered as a promise of God, but also an assurance of how much He loves us. Just as most people have a portfolio of insurance to cover things in life. We as followers should have a portfolio of Our Lord and Our Friend’s assurances built into our hearts and our lives.

Psalm 23; confirms we will go through things in life, verse 4 is another assurance to build into our heart’s portfolio:

“Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; Your rod and Your staff —they comfort me.”

Be strong, Be courageous. because we have His Promise, His Assurance and His Comfort, all provide by His Grace. No wonder the Apostle Paul took great comfort from His word. “My Grace is sufficient for you.”

In that sufficiency, we can Be Strong and Be courageous, and Not be terrified or be afraid.

God Bless.

Sunday Encouragement

Image

If This is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged by this wonderful verse from Isaiah 41 Verse 10:

Isaiah 41 verse 10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am Your God, I will strengthen you, surely, I will help you, surely, I will uphold you with My righteous right Hand.

Hope to a believer is a trust word. Our hope is not like, ‘I imagine so, or it could be likely’

Our hope is like an anchor rope, holding what we Believe down to the flows of certainties, in the midst of the of the storms of life going on around us.

Our Salvation is fastened with God’s own hand, and with Christ our strength, and to the strong state of Gods’ unchangeable nature.

Hebrews 6 verse 19:

“We have this hope, — like a sure and firm anchor of our soul— that enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain”.

Hope can be a Noun or a Verb. As a noun we can place our hope. Place in as a firm anchor.

Psalm 42 verse 5: Hope Is In God:

“Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will, still praise Him, my Savior and my God”.

1 Corinthians 13 verse 13: Faith, Hope Love.

““now these three remain; Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is love”.

Colossians 1 verse 27: Hope of Glory:

“God wants to make known to those among the Gentiles the Glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory”.

1 John 3 verse 3: Purifying Hope:

“And Everyone who has this hope i Him purifies himself {or herself} just as He is pure”.

Hope as a verb: A Doing:

job 13 verse 15: Hope In Him:

“Even if He kills me, I will Hope in Him, I will still defend my ways before Him”.

1 Corinthians 13 verse 7: In all Things”

“Hears all things, believes all things, Hopes all things, endures all things”.

Hebrews 11 verse 1: A reality:

“Now faith is the reality of what is Hoped for the proof of what is not seen. For by it our ancestors were approved”.

Hope in Knowing, Hope in Growing, Hope in our witness, and all Our Lord and Our Friend has called us to be. it is no just to hope of ‘“or I hope so.

It is eternal hope that purifies.

Chaplain’s Message

The Grandmother of a friend celebrated her 100th birthday the other day. What a n innings so far, 100 not out. I have no doubt that in that innings she had help and support at various stages.

This amazing achievement caused me to look at my own innings so far and not just at the length, but also the quality. As one needs to rely on others to create an innings in Cricket, so it is in life that we rely on others (spouse, children, friends, relations) to help us live a quality innings. I have reflected on the opportunities I’ve had, the decisions I’ve had to make, and the people I’ve needed along the way through difficult times.

I remember the time when the game of cricket allowed you to have a ‘Runner’ if you were injured. Someone to do the hard yards, or to carry you, so to speak.

I may have shared this with you before, but I think it’s worth repeating.

Footprints in the sand: one night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there were only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. ‘Lord You said that once I decided to follow You, You’d walk with me all the way, but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed You most You would leave me’.

The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child. I love you and would never leave you. During the times of trial and suffering, it was then that I carried you”.

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being such a loving god Who promised that to those who belong to You, You will never leave or forsake, and that You will strengthen and guild through the difficult times. Dear Lord would You bless all Magistrates and their families, and those who read this. May they remember that You are always there.

Wonderful Account Book Of ‘Ezekiel‘

Ezekiel 1 Verse 20:

“Wherever The Spirit  wanted to go, the creatures went in the direction the Spirit was moving ...”

God’s Spirit gives life, movement, and direction to the living beings. Even the heavenly beings are sustained by the life of the Spirit .”

Ezekiel 37

In this vision Ezekiel sees a great valley filled with dry bones, said to be the whole house of Israel.

The main lesson of this vision is the restoration of God’s people. He takes them from among the heavens and gathers them out of all countries as bones without flesh.

They were, historically a scattered people. this isn’t just a picture or a metaphor. It does however show the power of God to raise those who have not only been scattered, but also are dead in sin,.

This new birth was explained to Nicodemus, and God promises it here to Israel for the first of many times.

They are to be brought forth, filled with God’s Spirit and brought to their land.

When you are in the Spirit you become ALIVE in the Spirit. God’s hand was upon Ezekiel. Thus he was alive in the Spirit.

We have to become alive in the Holy Spirit. We are to be born again we have to start to proclaim the Lord. Jesus will come back looking for a people walking in the Spirit.

We need him to Breathe new life, a fresh anointing allow to breathe over us afresh with conviction, power, and anointing. When there is real life something takes place.

We need God so much. We must be a people who will pray. God is saying come, don’t hold back. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Romans 10 verse 17 God wants us to open our mouths, God wants to invade us with His presence.

Come alive in the spirit, come alive to the things of God. The yoke of The Holy Spirit will break the yoke of bondage!

Be still and know that I am God

Psalm 46 verse 10 “Be still and know that I am God” is a well known and much loved verse in the Bible.

According to Charles Spurgeon, Psalm 46 is called a “song of holy confidence”.

One explanation of this verse says that it is ‘a direct command from God to stop our futile efforts in dealing with things that are His domain. He asks us to put down our weapons of war and stand in awe of Him and His mighty power. As God, He is Sovereign, Faithful, Omnipotent and Unfailing.’

Some of the descriptions of ”still” from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance (New King James Version), are ‘to relax’, ‘let drop’, ‘to be quiet’, ‘to let go’.

This week one minister suggested that this word ‘be still’ was about ‘an act of surrender’. She said, when we are troubled about something, we think if we simply go to a ‘quiet place’, and then still try to work out what is troubling us, we think we are being still. However , to ‘be still’ ‘to surrender’, means we are to cast our care fully over onto the Lord, surrender to His will and ways, and leave it with Him to deal with. Our Lord and Friend truly is Sovereign, Faithful, Omnipotent and Unfailing.

A couple of quotes came to my notice this week. One was:

“Don’t worry. God is always on time. Trust Him”

Another quote was from Isaiah 60:22:

“When the time is right, I the Lord, will make it happen”

Sleep in peace tonight. God is in control.

Faith In Action 'Called To Be Set Apart'

Image

God is Holy. The Holiness of God, He is set apart. He is separated from impurity and sin. We all were separated from Him, because we all fell short of the mark He had for us.

Romans 3 verse 23 NKJV: “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God”.

In Isaiah 6 verse 7: Isaiah had a touch from the Lord, for his calling and to be set apart. A touch or experience of The Lord, he is calling us all to be set apart. As followers of Christ Jesus, we should look back regularly to the suffering and death of Th Son of God on the cross, as a glowing coal from the alter as His touch to us.

We receive righteousness from God as a Free Gift, it is bestowed upon us by God, because of what Christ Jesus has done for us on the cross.

Romans 3 verse 21 to 26: The result of this Gift, is that we are now holy, everyone who is authentic follower of Jesus Christ. Now that this Gift of Holiness has been imparted to us, we should never trivialize sin.

We have been set apart by The Love God gave on the cross, by Repentance on our part, and  Forgiveness on God’s part.

The Gift of Holiness bestowed on us, not by our deeds and works, but on Repentance and Acceptance alone, gives us fellowship with God. God hates sin and sin separated us from God. {Sin Wrong-doings, falling short of the mark God had for us as one of his much loved creations}.

We were created for fellowship, and through Repentance of falling short of The Mark, we are restored to fellowship with Him, by His Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness.

We are to walk in this Gift of Holiness, with this newness of our lives, Christ Jesus paid for on the cross. Hebrews 12 verse 2:

Heavens Shall Declare

Image

The existence of creation implies the existence of a creator, and the nature of the creation implies that He was wise enough to plan it and powerful enough to execute His plan and maintain what He had made. So complex a universe demands a Creator who can do anything, Who know everything and Who is present everywhere.

Psalm 19 verse 1: “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His Hands.”

What excuse to we have, not to accept His way for our lives. Jeremiah 29 verse 11: He has plans for all our lives. “Plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”.

The Heavens declare His Glory, and the sky proclaims the work of His Craftsmanship. You and I are apart of that craftsmanship, created for great purpose, one to live in fellowship, with the Master Craftsman.

In spite of the universal message that pours out day and night to the entire world, most people ignore it and reject Go because they want to live as they please Romans 1 verse 18 to 25:

In Romans 10 verse 18: Paul quotes Psalm 19 verse 4; as part of his explanation of why Israel rejected the gospel and what this rejection did ot the nation. The people could never say they had not heard God’s message, because verse 4: “that the whole world has heard’. Therefore, both Gentiles and Jews stand guilty before God and need to be saved through faith in Jesus Christ, and we must take the Salvation message to them. Romans 10 verse 1 to m15:

The heaven declare the Glory of God. Romans 10 verse 15; “How welcome are the feet of those who announce the Gospel of good things”.

We can be part of the problem through stubbornness, or part of the answer, through surrender to the Awesome God, Who has plans for our lives.

God Bless.

Scripture Verse Of The Week

Image

Psalm 95 verse 1:

“Come; let is sing to the Lord let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”

Being excited about our faith, expressing our faith, through song of worship. Many people get excited in many ways and for many different things, but many would think it strange or even wrong to get excited in the presence of God.

Another translations relates it as, ‘Come, let us shout joyfully to the Lord, shout triumphantly to the Rock of our salvation.’

Again many people get excited and shout, just at a football match, or sporting event, but the get excited about God, they would find it hard to believe.

1 Peter 1 verse 8: “You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him, and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy.”

That inexpressible joy, that has us bursting at the seams, we have just got to let it out, with a joyful noise, joyful singing and joyful shout, to our Lord and Our Friend, who has done so much for us. And with all the impressionable and glorious joy, we should have, no wonder we should want to shout, Shout Praises. Shout with reverent worship, to Him.

Verse 6 of Psalm 95, tells us:

“Come. let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

There is a different between a fanatical sports crowd and the impressionable and glorious joy of a believer, which needs to be expressed, sporting matches come and go, but we have an eternity of gratitude, to sing to shout, and to worship, The Rock of our Salvation.

Sing with gusto to the Lord. Sing praises to our Wonderful Lord and King. Sing our in spirited worship to Him. For He should be the focus of our lives.

Sunday Encouragement

Image

If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged by this wonderful verse from Mark 5 Verse 36:

Mark 5 verse 36: : ‘Don’t be afraid, Only Believe’.

The story comes just after the woman with a blood disease, touched, Jesus’ robes. The lady had slipped protocol and touched Jesus’ robe, believing that something would extraordinary would happen.

The scripture reference, ‘only believe’ is referring to a synagogue leader, who wanted Jesus to come to his house and pray for his sick daughter. The people who were at the house, while the synagogue leader was trying to get Jesus’ attention, came and told him his daughter had died.

As synagogue leader, he was going out on a limb to ask Jesus, Jesus only heard of the situation regarding the mans daughter, by overhearing the people telling the leader, your daughter is dead.

Jesus who knows everything, even knew how the man was feeling at that point, turned to him and said, ‘Don’t be afraid’. The synagogue leader was already out on a limb, because he believed Jesus could help his daughter. and now Jesus turns to him, and says ‘Only believe’.

The man would have had faith, being a synagogue leader, now Jesus was telling him something, that would stretch that faith. Jesus did heal that young girl, and the belief system the leader may have had, would have been transformed immediately:

. V12: ‘At this time they were utterly astounded’.

It all started when the first lot of wise men sought the baby Jesus, because they knew He was special, and now a religious leader, did the wisest thing a person can do, is bring their trouble to Jesus.

In another great story in Mark 9 verse 23: “Then Jesus said to him, {another man who was a father} ‘If You can? Everything is possible to the one who believes’.”

The father whose child who had been suffering, immediately cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe, help mu unbelief”. Verse 24:

All things are possible, ‘Only Believe’. Read these great stories again and be encouraged to ‘Only Believe’.

Chaplain’s Message

As I walked to work this morning, I looked up and was amazed at the awesomeness of God. My view was through a concrete jungle into clear blue skies. Just then the reality that I was looking at endless space, was powerful.

I watched a couple of DVD’s some time ago that put things in perspective3 for me as far as my significance withing the vast universe. I invite you to view it; “indescribable by Louie Gigilo”.

I wonder how many times you have looked into something, but never really seen it. Maybe because what ever IT is, is always there and we tend to miss it’s importance or significance. Look out your window (if you have one) and identify something you have never noticed before, and recognize its value.

Nature screams God’s greatness, but we seem to not hear or see it, and take it for granted. This is God’s handiwork, and so are we. We have the opportunity to fellowship with Him every day by His Holy Spirit, and we will know He is guiding us because we belong to Him.

John 3:8 New Living Translation “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit”.

God is in the wind, He is in the rain and in the sunshine. He is in nature, but most times we just don’t SEE Him. Take time today to just look around and see God in the everyday.

“Heavenly Father, thank You for Who You are. You created the world and everything in it, and You have promised that You will be our Comforter, Friend and Guide. You have offered us a relationship with You. May we take hold of that opportunity today and enjoy the journey together. Amen.

Wonderful Account Book Of "Ruth"

Image
As short as the Book of Ruth is, it is rich in symbolism. Symbolism, the Holy Spirit makes us a part of God's family.
Ruth is a Moabite woman, who proves to be a model of faithfulness, in a nation that was not hers, during the period of the Judges.During the dark days in the time of Judges, God allowed a famine to come over the Promised Land.
One family in a bold statement leaves the Promised Land. By doing so, they renounce their family’s claim on the part of the land that they have been given. They abandon their portion of God’s promise. They settle in Moab.
One of the family's two sons marries a Moabie woman {Ruth}. During the next ten years, all of the men in the family die, leaving three widows. Widows who had no way of making a living.
Naomi who is Ruth mother-in-law wants to return to the Promised Land, but she wants and begs Ruth to stay in her homeland. Ruth turns her back on her heritage and her family’s gods and turns to the God of Israel.
A rare story indeed, while God’s people are abandoning Him, Ruth confesses to have faith in Him.Once in the Promised Land, Ruth does any work she can get. She works in a grain field to collect food for herself and her mother-in-law {Naomi}.Hard work is always rewarded. With Ruth’s faithful and dedicated work, she catches the eye of the honorable older owner of the field, Boaz. God is a God of great love for His people, and this becomes another great love story.
Boaz is in a special position not only to marry Ruth but to restore her family’s part of the Promised Land. Boaz finds a faithful wife. Ruth finds strong protection in her husband. Naomi’s family is redeemed. Our God who longs to bring His people back to Himself and writes Boaz and Ruth’s son (Obed) into the family line of King David and of His very own Son Jesus. A love story, written from the heart of God.
The good hearted God satisfies deep longings, He redeems families and continues His rescue plan, for all those who will accept. {John 3 verse 16: God So loved that He gave}

Transformed

“Transform” in the dictionary (verb) is described as “to make a marked change in the form, nature or appearance”

Our theme this week at my Lord my Friend has been on transformation. As I look back over the last 40 years of walking with the Lord, I can see the many ways He has worked in my life (nature) to bring more of His nature to light in me. It is a continuing process and as I yield to Holy Spirit in me, He shows me how to let go of stubbornness and willful contrariness (part of my Irish heritage I think ),and I learn to walk in obedience, which brings more of the peace of God as I learn to rely and trust in His goodness and wisdom.

Some admonitions from the Apostle Paul to the believers ;

‘”do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”……Romans 12:2

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

“Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God – truly righteous and holy” Ephesians 4:23-24 NLT

“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him” Colossians 2:10 NLT

I find that each day, and often throughout the day, I choose to remember to put on my new nature, the nature of my Lord and Friend, which is that of agape love, and all the fruit of the Spirit. Instead of retaliating when someone is angry or judging me wrongly, I can choose gentleness and a kind response; offer a listening ear and maybe a word of encouragement. We are all facing different challenges, let’s choose to allow Holy Spirit to lead us and bring change to our thoughts and attitudes. We are being changed from glory to glory.

His way is perfect!

Grace and peace.
