I fell in love with him, and I realized that I was still alive. I had not realized how quiet and still my heart had been until it came beating out of my chest anytime he came near. I have always been my own, but I willingly gave my life to him so that I could live. He never takes that for granted. That’s what love did to me.

I think I created you out of poetry. Before I met you, I wrote letters to you. I thought that I was just being a hopeless romantic, dreaming things up, creating the perfect piece to complete my own very complex puzzle. I wrote of you on your birthday. I wrote of you, describing you, talking about nights we would spend together immersed in music, art, and love. I wrote about running my hands through your hair, touching your skin, and looking into your eyes, all without knowing you. Yet, somehow I did know you. We have always been connected, dating back to us being each others imaginary friend. I could write about all the occurrences, all the strange ways we have been connected, all the times we have passed by each other, like a gust of wind. I can, and I will, but not now. Right now I want to write about how happy I am that you are no longer just that refreshing gust of wind, blowing by, reminding me that you are out there somewhere. Instead, you are now the air in which I breathe, you are here. The heartbeat that was once like signal waves, leading me to you, is now the sound to which I find myself falling asleep, as I lay across your chest. We are not lost anymore, we are found. You found me, and together we built a home, and the life we always dreamed of. We don’t have everything, but my God, we have true love, and that is worth more than anything. That will always get us through.

As we sat there on that train, we talked about life. All kinds of life. I sat beside him and watched as his kind, brown eyes took in the rays of sun bouncing off of buildings and windows, and I fell even more in love with him. For a moment, I remembered how endless true love is, as I waded deeper and deeper. Every time I look at him, all I can think is.. 'I love him'.
