“One of the biggest lies we are told is that art has to be pretty and that it has to mean something. Sometimes art's purpose is just being” Olivia Haynes | Levitation | 23 | Lake Grimstone

ryder was outside his place, walking in and out of the place he shared with his roommates. he was getting rid of the couch chucking it onto the curb before going back into the house picking up small pieces of wood that used to be his coffee table, before chucking out into the curb, and picking other amounts of wood to throw, before picking up the now broken tv and chucking it out to the curb also. wiping his hands on his jeans he looks at his work. his face busted with a cut on his cheek, and a cut on his lip. they’re pretty fresh ones. as though it had been done recently.”i’m just deciding its time to recycle. nothing to see here.”

olivia always picked the times she wanted to take her daily walk. as lame as she knows it seems, it is the only time where she got to clear her head. focusing on the surroundings around her made it easier to clear her head than being in her town house. Her town house served as a distraction, cleaning, cooking, spending time in the game room, etc. her walk was just a faster way to clear her head and avoid any kind of distractions. She mostly picks the times when a lot of people weren’t really out. when everything seems to be quiet, most times that’s either early in the morning or late at night ( or somewhere in between, when everyone is either at school, working, or training ). sometimes she’ll venture into the woods or find a private, quiet, place to paint.

it was hard not to have everything that’s been going on in her head. the rising power against the government. The side she's supposed to pick. But she stopped in her track when she heard things crashing onto the ground. this wouldn’t be the weirdest thing she has seen, nor the worst. but she was curious, she didn’t even realize she was staring for so long until he spoke up. she took a step back before looking up at him, noticing the cuts on his face. she opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out ( shocker ). she pressed her lips together in a thin line before rocking on her heel. okay, let's try this again. “-------- right...” she nodded. of all the things she could’ve said, this was the best she could do? “i would ask butttt” she made a face before she shifted her gaze somewhere else because now she felt like she was making a fool of herself. “i’ll just ---- are you okay?” she pointed to her face, hoping he would get she was talking about his cut. “if so, then yeah i’ll, i’ll go”

“No, it’s okay. It’s good for me to get up and move a little. That was too long to have to sit still.” She gave Liv a quick shake of her head, leaning her weight carefully against the wall so as to avoid the stabbing feeling that went with holding herself up. “No, I’m okay. Just, uh, sore, I guess.” Sore, in pain, it was basically the same thing, right?

Liv understood that feeling. Only so much a person can take with only being able to stay still. She nodded her head before sliding her hands into her pocket.  ❛  What, um, what happened? --- were you flying?  ❜ the idea of her flying was the reason she was here made her shiver. God, she couldn't imagine how that was.

Everything was okay. It was okay, and Blake knew it. It was just her stupid power, not letting up. She blew out a loud breath, nodding at the other woman’s words. “A hug would help. And then maybe advil, if you have it,” she said, half-joking.

She raised herself on her tippy-toe, instinctively, before wrapping her arms around Blake. ❛  Of course, I don’t carry this bag for nothing  ❜ she teased.

It was over. The lights all snapped on, all at once, and Blake’s power-induced headache became a suddenly-too-much-light headache. But it was over. Blake took a few slow breaths, letting her heart-rate slow before balling her hands into fists. She wasn’t even really in control of her power, as far as she knew. She just knew she needed someone. Whether she came to them or they came to her, she’d find out when she opened her eyes again…

❛  Hey,  ❜ Olivia spoke in a soft voice.  ❛  everything’s okay  ❜ she reassured her. She didn’t know how it must’ve felt for Blake with this whole situation and her power. She didn’t know how it worked exactly if it was like Skyler’s power in a way. The whole thing was unsettling and it didn’t help with everyone that was getting loud and trying to break out. Olivia pressed her lips together before holding her arms out.  ❛  I give really good hugs, you know. ------ if you want one.  ❜

Two hours after the power came back on, Kayleigh stumbled out of the MRI room. Holding still for that long, when her body hurt this bad, was exhausting, but she was done. She could go home and lie down and never move again. That was, of course, assuming she had no visitors. Which she did. Immediately, she forced her bravest smile onto her face, trying to force her body upright. “Oh. Hey. Wasn’t expecting anyone…”

❛  No, no you don’t to move or anything  ❜ she protested.  ❛  I should’ve texted, sorry. Do you need anything? I just wanted to check up on you  ❜
