Sorry for being quiet for so long, but the project is still a go! Life has been throwing us admins a lot of curve balls and unfortunately, school and work come before side projects. That being said we are still very excited about the project and hope you all are as well!
Our supplier for the charms had to cancel on us, so we are finding a different supplier and planning to keep PREORDERS open for the next two weeks or so.
We sent an email to all zine participants so if you did not receive one PLEASE LET US KNOW!

There are times when it’s not enough to scratch the surface, sinking your fangs into and piercing the skin while the droplets of ruby poise in between is the only gratification there is. It’s not enough just to dine on the gaze, no matter how intense or fulfilling one assumes it to be. Pining for the warmth and comfort can only bring misfortune and yet, there they are, honing their desperation and jousting, solely to entertain a king they do not wish to serve but are subjected to. Galloping to an end where there is nothing but harsh sovereignty of their rulers. Trying to mark the territory, delusion of a world where an unbreakable bond exists, failing miserably every time when coming in contact with the cold exterior of concrete. Tracing every vein with fingertips, mapping out every tiny detail and engraving in memory, unconsciously grasping a sense of past lives, flowing right beneath the skin -however, so out of reach. Casting and waiting, anticipating the bait will be taken in, going back empty handed every time. Even though the pond is swarming.

Actually! Though I don’t know much personally, @hqwriterzine just updated their blog to say the zine is still on and they are extending pre-orders! The line-up + more info can be found here. (@ellessey-writes is in this one, too!)
I wrote a lil’ fic about Yachi, Tsukki, and Hinata for this zine – here’s a preview of it:
Yachi squares herself up and marches down the aisle towards the back. She may not have been with the team long, but she knows enough to suspect that a long bus ride with no one separating Hinata and Tsukishima will probably result in a second fight, and so, hoping against hope that she doesn’t drool or snore on either of them at any point over the next few hours, she plops herself down in between them and smiles at them both encouragingly.
“Hi!” she says cheerfully.
She’s settled herself right into the middle of an on-going argument.

Here’s a little sneak at my KurooTsukki piece for the zine ^^
“A bell chimed as Kuroo made his way into the store, immediately overwhelmed by the multitude of flowers he couldn’t hope to count. The smell was pleasant, gentle on his senses, and not nearly as overwhelming as one might assume from the variety of different colors and sizes. There was a lot to take in, but Kuroo’s eyes fixated on the tall man behind the work counter. He had slightly shaggy blonde hair with gorgeous golden hazel eyes focused on the arrangement in front of him, his concentration highlighted behind thick black glasses. The green apron paired well with the white button up and jeans he had on. Kuroo made a mental note to thank Yaku later, the man was a beauty.
‘Are you going to stand there and stare all day or did you actually want something?’ A voice cut Kuroo out of his trance.”

HEY GUYS OAO!! It’s Zero here.
I’m afraid I’m not going to be very helpful, unfortunately >.< I have no idea what’s happening with the zine, since my part was reading submitted fics and proofreading. I haven’t heard from the other two mods either. It seems they’re both on hiatus and busy with school lives. I’ve sent them both messages tonight to see what’s happening with the fic. I’ll make another post here in a week’s time to let you all know what’s happening

Heeeeeeey! Preorders for the @hqwriterzine are open! So here’s a little snippet for my KageTsukki piece and it’s also illustrated by the amazing @faittruo! Go get ‘em!
He has a pocketful of stars, carefully tucked away for the moment when he can decorate the vast expanse of the night sky. After all, the moon deserves to be bestowed a veil of stars to be illuminated by its side.
Kageyama’s first encounter with Tsukishima is at a stairwell.
He knows he shouldn’t be quite as enamoured with the sight of someone crying but there’s something in the way the evening glow spills down the steps, the only obstruction being the still figure curled up at the bottom that creates the harsh shadows that stretches to Kageyama’s feet. He resists the temptation to bring up his camera.
The muffled sobbing continues even as he approaches, light-footed and mindful. “Are you crying?”

At the end of the trail he found…
A man? A woman? A beautiful person was chain smoking away beneath the wisteria blossoms in full bloom. The dying cigarette had barely fallen from their fingers before a fresh one was pressed between their lips. Their ears glittered with piercings. Where their ears weren’t pierced ear cuffs dripped with fine chains. Gold hair with dark roots flowed to their waist. Half of it was done up in a messy bun. Black and charcoal fabric fluttered about like dark wings. They seemed to be wearing some kind of dress, but there was nothing feminine about it. They wore boots glinting with half a dozen zips and buckles, too. There was nothing masculine about them either.
Akaashi blatantly stared at them. The person looked like they stepped out of a smouldering apocalyptic wasteland into perfumed paradise lush with life.

As they chat, their excitement rubs off on each other, and soon he finds himself wishing that he could see everyone already. Yachi ends the call with the promise to come back with good news, and he checks his phone to find Noya’s message, bearing Kinoshita and Narita’s numbers, and a disgruntled reply from Kageyama.
Dont text at 3 am dumbass, the message grumbles before giving Yamaguchi’s number and nothing else. Hinata snorts.
u didnt say when ur coming back to japan!!!!! He shoots back.
With his friends’ help, getting everyone together will be a cinch.

His mother’s - no, his now - chief of staff was watching him with an unreadable expression, and Kenma’s eyes flickered away from his reflection in the mirror when their eyes connected and something in the gaze made the back of his mouth sour. There was a spider in his mother’s garden, and he best be careful if his plan were to succeed.
Don’t trust them, the voice he heard years ago when his mother collapsed because of strain when he had not yet learned the dance as he cried by her bedside, the voice that wrapped around him like a comforting hug and promised him that all would be well once more. I will protect you from anything.
It would be the same voice that would either kill him or save him.

Tooru snatches his hand back and turns to apologize to the other person, a sheepish smile plastered across his face and half-hearted excuses already hanging off his tongue. But that all fails him when he finally looks at the other man. All his thoughts and words disappear entirely in the overwhelming surprise of seeing that tanned skin and dark hair and eyes so familiar it almost breaks his heart.
Iwaizumi Hajime is standing before him for the first time in almost four years, and Tooru doesn’t know what to say.
