Offerings for Aphrodite

  • Incense/Candles: A pretty simple offering. Use ones with scents that she’s associated with or that remind you of her. Rose and ocean scents, as well as myrrh, apple, and myrtle, are all candle or incense scents you could offer. I personally, though not typically associated with Her, offer strawberry incense that smells really sweet and reminds me of Her.
  • Roses: Anything rose related. A whole rose, the petals, or even rose water! Roses are one of Aphrodite’s sacred plants and I’m sure she’ll appreciate it greatly.
  • Chocolate: I’ve never actually tried this offering myself, but I hear She loves chocolate!
  • Orgasms: Another one I’ve yet to try but, seeing as She’s the Goddess of love and pleasure, it’s a very popular thing to offer.
  • Apples: Especially ones yellow/golden in color.
  • Jewelry: Offer her a piece of jewelry and keep it on your altar when not wearing it.
  • Makeup, lotion, perfume, etc.: You could offer your beauty products to Her! Bonus points if they’re colors or scents that remind you of Her.
  • Art: Any form of art that you made for Her. A story, poetry, sculptures, drawings, anything! And don’t fuss over it beings absolutely perfect for our lovely Goddess, She will love it and think it’s perfect no matter what because you made it and you made it for Her.
  • Seashells: Especially scallop and abalone shells. Decorate your altar to Her with them! You could even use a scallop shell as the offering bowl on your altar for Her.
  • Olive oil: The olive tree was very important in Greek culture and it’s branches, as well as olive oil, were given as offerings often! So it’s a pretty safe bet.
  • Honey: Call me out if I’m wrong but I believe honey was also important in Greek culture. Bees are also associated with Aphrodite so honey would make a good offering.
  • A letter: Pretty simple! Just write a letter to Her! You can tell her anything you want!

I love unreliable narrators who are not the main character because I too cannot accurately repeat a story that didn’t happen to me

anyway have any of you ever thought about how Jason was raised by wolves and then an army and told he had to be the best so he became the best, made himself the best using his experiences and power, who has to prove himself time and time again to the people who made him, and then he meets Percy Jackson who, with almost none of Jason’s training, without having been raised and molded into a leader, is better than him

Percy Jackson, who had a childhood, who had a mom, who seems all the better for it. Jason can finish his quests and missions and get a pat on the back and congratulations for bringing honor to the Legion and nothing else because that’s what’s expected of him, while Percy gets hugs and cookies and tears of relief and so much love because people had been hoping he’d succeed, not because it meant victory, but because it meant he'd live.

all of the things Jason’s gone through to make him that perfect leader and soldier feel like they were all for nothing because he looks at Percy Jackson and sees that perfect leader and soldier and none of the things that made Jason good are what made him great

It's common trivia that the children of the Big Three have ironic fears.

Percy, son of the sea, fears suffocation.

Hazel, daughter of wealth, fears precious ore.

Nico, son of the underworld, fears the dark.

Bianca, daughter of death, feared dying.

Thalia, daughter of the sky, fears heights.

And though we don't get much screentime with Jason's past, I loved him feeling crushed under the expectations as a son of Jupiter, trained from 2 years old, and volunteered as Praetor.

The son of the king of the gods feared leadership.

nico is ten and his father isn’t here and his mother is dead. nico is eleven and alone. nico is twelve and his father is a god. nico is thirteen and dying. nico is fourteen and carrying the weight of the world on his starved shoulders. nico is fifteen and reyna has given him her praetor’s cloak. nico is sixteen and will’s kisses are warm against his cheeks. nico is seventeen and he loves percy jackson, but not like that. nico is eighteen and he releases the ghost of his sister through his lips. nico is nineteen and he finally stops screaming.
