Roxanne laughed. “If that’s what you wanna do then we’ll do it.” She said. “I’ll even take you up on your offer me buying.” She laughed. “Thanks.” She said as she picked up the carton and took out a cigarette. Placing it between her lips, she lit it and smiled and slid the carton back to Alex.

“The amount of money you always have makes me think whether I’m in the right part of the gang,” Alex laughed as she shook her head. Despite her whining, the Savages looked after her well enough to keep a roof over her head and food in her stomach, not to mention the access to drugs. “Least I can do -- and I’ll have neat whiskey when you’ve finished,” she winked with a smirk. “How’re you, anyway? It’s been forever.”

“Well we can continue doing shots.” Roxanne nodded her head towards Alex’s now empty shot glass. “Or, we can go back to my place and smoke a bit.” She offered. “Literally I’m down for anything.”
Image
“I could do at least ten more shots before I have to be carried home,” Alex smirked. “As long as you’re buying,” she joked as she put another cigarette between her lips and lit it up. Pushing the carton across the table, she offered the other a cigarette too. “Good to know.”.

“you know it’s not really a good hallmark to have, kingsley.” he said a bit bitterly before rolling his eyes. children. that’s what all of these people were to him. the ones that would make stupid mistakes and get themselves in trouble. “yeah, just be glad it was me and not some idiot planning to take your shit. you’re just lucky i don’t care about any of it.” he said before rolling his eyes slightly. it was a long day of work but at least he only had to deal with this and not something else.

“You know the other hallmark of my personality is not giving a fuck,” she bit back as she raised a brow at the man. “Oh yeah, I’m super stoked no-one got away with the three bucks and yogurt-land rewards card that I have in here,” she smirked before sliding it into her pocket. “You look and sound like you could use a drink,” Alex noted with a cocked brow.

“that’s what isaid.” there was a coldness in delilah’s tone, a sharpness that rooted itself in f e a r for the other’s wellbeing. again she was on her table. AGAIN she had put herself in harm’s way. delilah didn’t even acknowledge the sexual flirtation, her expression remaining stale. “the treatment takes as long as it takes. i suggest you think on that and weigh up your actions with the consequences.”.

Alex knew this was coming. It happened every time she got hurt or got too high. Alex thought by now she’d be used to it considering she was a fucking solider for a gang but, clearly, she wasn't. It was never too bad when they were in a good place, but right now they were ‘off’, so the bitterness stung even more. She swallowed thickly as she rolled over a little, giving more access to the stab wound. “Delilah-- this is my fuckin’ job. I don’t get to weigh up my actions with the consequences. I get told what to do and I do it... We’ve been doing this long enough, I’d of thought you sussed that out.”.

“Ugh I don’t even wanna talk about them.” Roxanne shook her head. “Do you want to do something to get your mind off of it?”
Image
“Good. ‘Cause I don’t plan on talkin’ ‘bout them,” Alex chuckled as she shot the last of the whiskey that was in the glass in front of her. “What’d you got in mind?”

“it doesn’t look like anything a couple stitches won’t fix.” delilah hummed to herself as she took a step back from the person on the bench. “i should warn you though that you should probably take a backline in all physical activity for five to six days whilst the stitches work…” the ex-doctor wasn't sure how the other would r e a c t to that news. “either that or you risk tearing it open again which will hurt T E N times more than this.”
Image
“A couple stitches?!” Alex exclaimed closely followed by a long, low groan. Despite being a fucking drug addict, Alex hated needles. “--Fuck,” she added, no sentence of hers being complete without one good curse. “I mean, five to six days is a long time-- you sure you can last that long, D?” She shot the medic a sly smirk, though the sudden movement caused another tear of pain to ripple through and therefore another groan. “Okay, okay... Just, er-- make it quick? Please?”

“I made my Mum drive drunk, which -- killed her and George... Making her drive was the worst thing I’ll ever do.”

Roxanne repressed an eye roll. “New shoes.” She shrugged and pointed down to her new pair of shoes. “I wasn’t trying to sneak up on anyone.” She promised.
Image
“I thought as much,” Alex smirked glancing down at the shoes. “Nice,” she compliments with a chuckle. “Right-- sorry, I’m just on edge at the moment what with all these snakes slithering around,”

i’ve offered my help countless times alex.. she says, tilting her head slightly as she chews at the inside of her cheek. well you’ve got to try harder or at least let me help you.. you can only push me away so many times. blue says, reaching her hand out to gently rest on the girls leg. we can get you clean, she says with a small smile and gentle squeeze.

“And I’m not saying you haven’t,” Alex almost snapped back. Keeping her cool when it came to talking about drugs was not her forté. “How can I try harder?” Alex put her knife and fork down and pushed her plate away. “I push you away, I break. We try together, I break... What if this is all I am now? What if I can’t get clean?” She questioned. A heavy sigh came from her. “I’m not ready to start feeling everything again.”.

“I wasn’t trying to sneak up on you.” The shoes were new, hence the squeaking sound and she was trying to break them in when she’d stumbled across her. Still, the wink brought a flush to her cheeks. “What are you doing out here this late, all alone?”
Image
“Right--” Alex turned around in her chair. Even though she masked it with humor, her paranoia had been through the roof since the attacks became more frequent. Right now, she’d pull a knife on anyone that even said ‘boo’ to her. But she wouldn’t let anyone know that of course - so - she smirked. “Someone’s gotta keep this old dive bar floating,” Al lifted the glass of neat whiskey in the air. “And what’s a nice bar doing in a girl like this?” She asked, purposefully messing up the standard line.

“This is good then,” Maks stated, meaning in no way to be condescending. Being able to recognise one’s fault in a task made it easier to rectify.
“Perhaps we will switch guns for you, less of this issue.” He thought aloud, half talking to himself as much as he was talking to her. She bore telltale signs of a habit, something he would never comment on but it would stick in the back of his mind when he was around her to keep an eye on her.
A laugh follows, his gun lowered and the safety switched.
“Good plan. Would you like to continue or call it a day?”
Image
“I wouldn’t use ‘good’, but I guess it’s progress,” she compromised. Alex was well-known for her pessimistic nature so even meeting someone halfway was kind of a big fucking deal.

“To what?” The soldier asked, furrowing her brow at him. “I thought handguns had the least kickback?” Alex added, though really she had no idea what she was talking about. Shaking her head, Alex swallowed thickly and sighed. “No, no-- I wanna keep going. There’s a storm coming, right?”

A very brief flash of fear showed in Alex’s eyes when she thought of what the future held. With the Cobra’s gaining more and more on them, and the attacks happening more frequently, the only thing Alex could see for the future was 6 feet underground. Despite her tough facade, and her constant going ons about how she had nothing left; she wasn’t ready to go... She didn’t want to go.

“y’know i wasn’t actually trying to sneak up on you.” he said bluntly. “maybe you should pay attention first before making assumptions, seriously it could get you into trouble one of these days, jeeze. you dropped your wallet back there” he said before tossing it over at the woman not really in the mood for her bickering.
Image
Alex rolled her eyes and paired it with a dramatic groan when the man came over all serious. “Chill, Holton,” she waved a hand. Screwing her eyebrows together when he said her assumptions would hurt her, she turned to look at him and caught the wallet. “I’m always in trouble - it’s pretty much a hallmark of who I am as a person at this point,” she commented before holding the wallet in the air a moment before pocketing it. “Thanks.”.
