Finally added the new patches from #SojournAsia2017 to my @patagonia Headway MLC Bag. Love this beast of a bag and the memories it accompanied me on. BRING ON THE NEXT DESTINATION! (at Calgary, Alberta)

It's a morning of reading, planning, deciding where to go, places to see, things to do. And as Ireland slowly becomes a bigger and bigger reality, I'm faced with an excited breathlessness that I can't shake. This place that I read about and have so far, ever nightly, dreamed about seems to call out to my soul too loudly. Too green a pasture. Too good to be true. #ShamrockShowdown2018 #ireland #thenexttrip #trip #planning #travel (at Calgary, Alberta)
Decided that a nice and rainy day was a perfect time to bring out a fresh roll of 35. Nothing but fun shooting film, except maybe the painful inability to see how your photos turn out immediately. #ttl #photography #streetphotography #canontx #canon #film #35mm #oldschool #yyc #canada (at Calgary, Alberta)

At a fraction of the cost I'd pay for a Taxi ride back in Canada, I figured I'd prefer the same luxury here in Manila. I changed my mind the moment I decided to take a tricycle instead. I feel like anyone reading this from the Philippines will probably roll their eyes at my love of something so mundane and everyday, but there was something about the noise, the smell, the feel of every bump in the road as the driver weaved in and out of traffic and pedestrian alike while I sat in a metal box attached to his bike, untethered and swaying to the forces of his hairpin turns. There was something about it that brought me back to when I called this now foreign land "home". Truthfully, I miss seeing the 8 pointed star and thinking "I'm Home". #SojournAsia2017 #travel #travelphotos #travelphotography #manila #manilaph #ph #philippines #canon5d #home #instatravel #tourism #vacation #trip (at Manila, Philippines)
"We carry in our head these pictures of what our lives are supposed to look like, painted with the brush of our intentions. It's the great, deep secret of humanity that in the end none of our lives look the way we thought they would" -R. If I could reblog this a million times, it still would not be enough.
"She was Fire itself." I read through a bunch of the little post-its on the board. Love letters, tounge in cheek jabs at loved ones, thank you notes for the great food, poems. How could I NOT put one up? You don't put a board labeled "feels" in front of me and expect me not to pour my soul out into paper...
"Sometimes I wonder if it was worth it..." "What?" "Coming back" "Of course it was... Look at where you are" "Yes, but look at where I was."
I walked the length of the beach at low tide, out, farther than I ventured swimming the day before. I walked farther than where the boat was anchored, far to where the soft sand gave way to water until it crept up to my chest. It was here that I thought if the tides gave way, I would be at a depth I couldn't possibly escape from. But the tides held. Long enough for me to walk back and watch the sun set on drier land as the tide came sweeping back to cover the tracks I made in the sand, only to retreat again the following morning washing the canvas of the beach anew. Funny, I thought, that this trip was exactly that for me. A venture into an unknown that I, in any other circumstances would never survive. A sojourn to walk back from realizing that the new day comes, the canvas undone, for a new painting to flourish upon. #sojournasia2017 #travelphotography#Travel #travelmore #philippines #cebu#camotes #beach #revelation#photography
I sometimes wonder if living in spite is something that nature imbued in me, or a trait life nurtured in me. That simple act of rebellion in the smallest things; like finishing an obstacle course after being told you're probably too fat to. Like travelling solo when you're told you'd have a better time with friends. Like diving headfirst into a doomed month long love when all the signs scream "don't do it". The truth is, living in spite of what I'm told has given me a sense of purpose. A sense of wanting to do things no one wants me to do. A sense of saying "nah, fuck the signs, imma park right here if I want to".
I miss Paris, I miss the Metro, I miss the stale air underground and the fresh cold air above. I miss the echoes of the trains rushing through dark tunnels. I miss the buskers filling the same dark tunnels with the light of their music.
