I love the stench of hypocrisy at midnight. From an early age, knights in training are exposed to battle; this is cause for many squires being killed in combat defending fortresses and in general training, and the process of being trained is very long and takes fourteen years or so. In a country like N/ohr, where they have been at war for so long, it wouldn’t be a shock if S/ilas was exposed to the battlefield really early, along with his comrades —- the same comrades that could have easily been killed. He’s also the only cavalier who has gone through what’s close to traditional training for being a knight; X/ander is crown prince and was most likely trained differently, P/eri was a competitor before being recruited, and S/ophie & S/iegbert seem to have completely different regiments entirely. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if he had comrades or close friends killed or the like in battle, and would serve as a pretty good explanation as to why he’s the only traditional knight cavalier from it.
