Cute girl of the day is Gabourey Sidibe!
"You're so brave for posting these photos." No. I am not brave for posting these photos. I am existing. I am taking up space. I am uncovering a body that possesses features society says are better left concealed. There is nothing brave about having a body. We all have one. The fact that people will think it's brave for me to show mine says less about me and more about the world in which we live.
Body hate free
I did a thing today. It's swollen atm but I couldn't wait to show off my body acceptance piece done by artist Rita Zagars at Tyler Wolf Tattoo in Seattle.

There's only one thing I'm certain of these days: the world needs art. Raw, honest, emotional, in-your-face art. Any kind of art. All kinds of art. We need it now. It's a type of resistance, creating when the world would have us believe we're powerless and broken. That fear, that anger, that confusion and pain. Feel it and then build it, paint it, write it, photograph it, draw it, rinse, repeat. Bear witness through your mediums. Rise up and get to work.
