I promised to translate the original script for sfh so here it is (after 50 yrs or so)

1. Let’s start off with a goofy one. In the scene where moonjo rips the photo with jongwoo and jieun, moonjo was supposed to reenact the last (& best) scene of the kwill - “please don’t” mv. Watch the mv if you don’t know what i’m talking about i aint giving spoilers

2. Moonjo creeping out jongwoo on the rooftop and jongwoo being saved by his mom’s phone call: in the script, jongwoo asks if he can leave if moonjo’s done talking. Moonjo says “No, i’m not done talking yet.” So jongwoo shows his phone screen and says “My mother is calling. Look, i’m not lying.” To which moonjo mutters with a cold look, “My mom... I hated my mom.”

3. Script says they couldn’t find moonjo’s body in the end. Like the drama, jieun says jongwoo was talking to himself in the goshiwon, but she also adds that he was saying things like “we’re always going to be together” and “your life won’t be the same ever again,” which are the exact words moonjo apparently said to jongwoo before he died.

4. Seokyoon’s rap:

Fuck Mother! Fuck Father! Fuck Money!

Fuck Mother! Fuck Father! Fuck Money!

At age 5, i stole my mom’s money and ran.

At age 13, i stole my dad’s money and ran.

Although my mom and dad put their lives on the line

Trying to protect their baby lion, baby alligator, their own son

(baby is often used as a cuss word in korean. also seokyoon’s not very talented)

5. Everyone is just more cranky and cusses more in the script ig?? They say “fuck” a few times which isn’t allowed on tv lmao.. it also describes moonjo as having “thin and white/pale fingers” a lot, to the point where kfans found it to be kinda funny

Bonus (from a q&a with the director):

- Moonjo was abused as a child and killed his parents before going to boksoon’s orphanage (the “killed his parents” part was from the last ep of the drama)

- Looking at his behavior towards Jongwoo, Moonjo’s not a psychopath? He feels emotions like normal people & can relate to others’ pain and feelings, but his lust for blood is stronger so he just does his thing ig 🤷‍♀️

- Seo Moonjo may be a fake name

- Kihyuk wore long sleeves to imitate Moonjo (& he’s always cold), moonjo wore long sleeves to hide his scars. He’s also not affected by the weather a whole lot, but lee dong wook was sweating a ton in his long black shirt in the middle of august

- they took out the scene where nambok (the pervert) went to a butcher shop & spoke chinese while doing human (organ) trafficking

Anonymous asked:

Have you seen unlocked yet? It's perfect for a sfh headcanon!!!

YEAH!! And I see you saw that possibility too (how could we possibly not, right?)

For starters, I thought it very interesting (and useful) that Siwan's character in the movie didn't have a past. He came from apparently nowhere, and just assumed the identity of his first victim. It's like he had no life before that. The police couldn't identify him. And—just like Moonjo!—he also claims there is no reason for doing what he does.

(Well, this last part is, of course, bullshit, from both of them. There is a reason for everything. Even when your reason is "I wanted to see what would happen"/"I felt like doing it", that's still a reason, and it reveals a lot about your character).

I spent a good length of the movie trying to work out a SFH post-canon idea; some way to connect point A (the ending of SFH) to point B (the plot of Unlocked). At first, it didn't make sense, because our Jongwoo doesn't have any inclination to technology, and (even though he can be excessively judgemental and unexpectedly cruel) he is not a sadist. So I almost scratched the whole thing out.

But hey, HEY NOW, what if this is the wrong angle? Jongwoo and the hacker killer don't seem to have much in common, but you know who does? Jongwoo and the hacker's victims. In the way they were isolated, had their secrets found out by someone who wasn't kind about it, were stripped out of options, and went in the direction the person controlling their lives wanted them to go.

If post-canon Jongwoo lost his sense of self and incorporated Moonjo's persona, a killer like the one from Unlocked is a version of what he could had become. He'd be reproducing what he knows. That would be him making other people go through some of what he did.

I also remember that, in the movie, the killer gave the protagonist a chance to fight and possibly stab him to death (she didn't take it, but that's not the point), like Moonjo gave to Jongwoo. However, moments before she used a gun to shoot and actually kill him, later, he looked afraid, which was nothing like Moonjo. He didn't have the same fascination for her that Moonjo had for Jongwoo, his death was not by design, and he definitely would take no satisfaction in dying by her hands. Those people he killed, her included, were like tasks to him (albeit he did have fun with it, lying to and fooling them to his heart's content). That woman was just one more, in a line of many victims. It was all very... impersonal. Just jumping from one to the next, doing the exact same thing to all of them, again and again.

This kind of impersonal, detached method, has nothing to do with SFH-Jongwoo. It does sound a lot like Moonjo (pre-Jongwoo), though. The Moonjo from the papers and official records; the Moonjo from Jongwoo's novel. The Manipulator. The Liar. The one any sane person would say didn't really care about Jongwoo, that was only playing with him, like he did with the others who came before him.

If the character from Unlocked was Jongwoo, maybe the reason why he was doing all that was because he was angry. Not at society, not at how easily we put ourselves in a vulnerable position without even realizing, not even with his own victims, but with someone else, who he could not direct his anger at, because was not there anymore.

obsessed with the christian references in sfh. mrs eom as a corrupted version of god, who created a gosiwon named after the garden of eden. she adopts children and takes in residents and strives to, if not kill them, make them just like her (Genesis 1:26 Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness; Genesis 2:8 The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed.).

moonjo is often understood as the devil but i also like viewing him as both adam and eve. moonjo is adam as in mrs eom's primary son who is lonely and seeks accompaniment just like adam. he also molds people (kihyuk and jongwoo) to reveal the truest parts of themselves, but it's prefaced by having something in common with them, particularly in jongwoo's case. so that even if he dies, that person will always carry him with them because he is part of them. meanwhile in the story of adam and eve, eve is fashioned from one of adam's ribs, making sure that a part of adam is always in her.

but again moonjo is also eve in the way that with every new tenant he feeds them human meat (kihyuk, jongwoo, seokyoon) just like how eve was the one who made adam eat from the tree of good and evil. it's an inverse story of eve, where an innocent eve gets tricked by satan; in moonjo's case he is a willing and conscious participant in the temptation of others with the taste for human meat being somewhat of a rite of passage for them. however instead of being banished from the garden of eden like adam and eve are in the bible the people who eat it instead never leave with the exception of jongwoo. even then, metaphorically he never does leave eden.
