“Asleep. Where else?” He says with agitation in his voice, subtly hinting that he wasn’t quite in the mood for talking. He takes a sip from a plastic red cup that you hadn’t spotted in his hand until now. You sense the hostility in the room, so you decide to address it. “Is there a problem?” You ask the brunette, who still refuses to look away from the television. “No,” he burps. “Do you want one?”

The sun beats down on Jungkook’s skin, leaving it prickling with sweat as he finishes loading up his truck. The thin white wifebeater does nothing to protect him from the heat, but he was using it to his advantage. He was currently on a job in the hills, a rich older woman wanting some help with hanging large day beds under her porch—and she brought her friends along to observe. 

Jungkook wasn’t stupid. He knew they weren’t interested in learning how to do this themselves. No, they were interested in the younger, tattooed and sweaty man grunting as he did it all himself. So he gave them a show, taking off his thicker shirt, revealing more of his body as he worked, raking his hands through his hair as he subtly flexed. He’d like to think it was an art. 

It really did pay off though. They brought out lemonade for him and even gave him a hefty tip, all of them giggling when he winked and wished them a good day before leaving. He really knew how to milk it.

A liberal arts degree comes with the same general people in virtually all your classes. The girl who offered you a pencil the first time scantron attendance was taken. The boy who’d taken your seat the fourth week of class when you were both ten minutes early. And unfortunately for you, Jeongguk.

You knew he could sing because Yoongi had dragged you to karaoke night on his off day at the cafe he worked at in which Jeongguk just so happened to be at and his friend, Taehyung and his charcoal stained fingers, had shoved him to the front and Yoongi had to pinch your hip to prevent you from burning a hole through Jeongguk’s melodious lips with your glare.

You knew he turned twenty-one in September when he showed up to your group presentation the next day, hungover, after deleting and changing your entire thesis to fit his.
