Did I ever tell you guys about the time I bribed a security guard at a Panic! at the Disco concert to let me hug Ryan Ross?

There were about 40 of us waiting around in the parking lot after the show, because we knew they’d come out to meet us (this was when they were touring with Dresden Dolls and The Hush Sound, right after A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out got big, so very early on). Their security guy, Zack, said we were only allowed to high five them. If we tried to touch them beyond that we would get escorted away. I was 16, and Ryan was My Favorite. I was literally joking and just trying to get on Memorable Terms with the security guard (pro-tip, get in good with security, folks), so I told Zack I would give him a fruit-by-the-foot if he let me hug Ryan. He looked me dead in the face and said, “You have one on you?” So I pulled a fruit-by-the-foot out of my purse (because I never went anywhere without them at the time). I handed it over, and the guys came out one by one about an hour later. When Ryan got to me, I looked at Zack questioningly. He nodded and said “This one’s allowed to hug you.”

And that’s the story of how I bribed P!atD’s security guard with a fruit-by-the-foot to let me hug Ryan Ross.
