I think a key to unlocking yashiro’s anxiety with intimacy is for him to see doumeki’s enjoyment in sex come through. doumeki has kept himself in tight control this whole time; clinical, like it was described. with good reason, but it’s not allowing yashiro any room to breathe from the scrutiny. he’s trying but I can’t imagine this makes things any easier for someone so private with his emotions.

but when he sees doumeki’s expression as they position into missionary, he actually laughs and touches the other’s face - he relaxes! he sees doumeki isn’t unaffected! it’s the one part of the chapter where there’s nothing complicated about his reaction.

what I’m saying is, he needs to flick doumeki’s sensitive nipples (as noted in the 2007-2017 fanbook by sensei) or lick an earlobe and watch doumeki’s face contort or moan, and think - oh, I can do that to him. he likes it. and I think this will be a catalyst.

i think the biggest reason why some book devil's minion readers don't like tv devil's minion is because y'all just don't like old ppl. you just don't like the fact they aged daniel. i'm sorry you're so blinded by your ageism that you can't see past it to find how ingenious it is that they made daniel older. what a bunch of cowards.

okay but how has no one pointed out the obvious lie in armand's little diatribe about all the coven members he's had sex with, yet?

like, book!armand was an abuse victim trafficked into sex work. he is obviously used to his sexuality and his beauty being used to hurt and degrade him — and that the label of "wh*re" can be worn like armor if he tries to jump in front of people's assumptions.

armand has spent the entire show so far playing and performing for daniel, but the second daniel edges toward mocking armand's sexual history, armand reacts by leaning into what he thinks daniel will perceive him as — he plays the whore again, his very first role.

I’m so glad someone else mentioned this - I was surprised that so many people accepted this performative, cavalier response at face value. In the same scene, he also implied that HE was the one who rejected lestat, which is, conversely, accepted as a big fat lie - with good reason, since book fans know lestat’s rejection was a huge catalyst to the plot. so why wouldn’t armand simply be lying about everything else? (I think people are caught up in the visuals of it, which is understandable). even louis expressed surprise at the threesome, which was a funny reaction but odd, given how they should know these intimate details about each other.

Daniel having flashback memories to Armand when they're talking about Alice and Daniel asking her to marry him... I hate the 'Armand is Alice' theory so i don't believe that but i think this does indicate that Daniel subconsciously associates Armand with ideas of love and failed romance

I don’t ascribe to the “alice is armand and she never existed” theory either for way too many reasons (like…common sense reasons lol), but I agree that daniel unconsciously associates armand with lost love and I also think armand COULD have planted some false memories that overlap with alice’s real existence, i.e. daniel believes there was a failed proposal - but he clearly married her (she’s his second ex-wife!) so then wait, why is that moment so awful for him to relive? was that a moment that armand invented as a way to hide his rejection of daniel? I do think that’s a possibility.
