It had become a bit of a habit for Blaine to leave Trig, early if he could, and head down to the pool as quickly as possible where Sebastian and Hunter were just finishing up with their lifeguard training class.  As the bell rung, he quickly exited the class room, moving swiftly around people until he almost literally ran into David Karofsky.  “Oh shoot, David, sorry,” he apologized.  “I should really pay more attention to where I’m going.”

Out of habit, he immediately shoulder-shoved the person who rounded the corner and ran into him; but quickly reached out to stop him from hitting anything when he realized it was Blaine. “My bad, didn’t know it was you.” He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck, a little embarrassed of his mistake. “I’ve been more on edge than usual, I guess.” After the episode aired, the guys on the football team were giving him a hard time. Seeing him all buddy buddy with one of the few openly gay guys at the school gave them way too much ammo to use against him. “Where you rushing to?”

Brody: I try.
Brody: That didn't stop you sophomore year.
Brody: But seriously, you need to stop. It's only further proving everyone's misguided notions of how you are, and it'll only alienate you further.
Dave: I'm telling you, it's tradition. I don't even remember the last time I personally slushied one of you guys, but getting the whole football team to lay off is gonna be impossible, dude.
Dave: Especially Azimio. You guys are his fave target

Brody: But it's the truth. Yes, you're a straight white male in today's America - you will have plenty of privileges over man others, but that doesn't mean people won't be prejudice or unfair towards you. /Especially/ if you act the way you have been.
Brody: Also, I'd appreciate it if you and your football buddies didn't slushie us in Glee anymore. It's hard enough getting it out of our hair, but you could accidentally hit one of us Cheerios in the splash radius, and then you'd have Sue on your ass.
Dave: Huh, never thought about that much before. You're really good at seeing everyone's side, and not being super judgmental. We could use more of that around here.
Dave: Haha, come on man, that's basically a tradition at this point. I don't slushie you, I even make sure none of my boys do it. But some of you kids, like Berry or even Jo, they've got huge targets on their backs

Marley has never been in this sort of situation, so it was an odd place to be to say the least. Marley never saw herself here, and for a moment she wondered if she even knew herself. She was trying out for the Cheerios, going to parties.. Drinking. Who was she? Who was she really? “I’m a teenage girl. Of course I’m going through something.” She said bluntly. It seemed ironic, saying that, but being a teenager, especially one whose life was being broadcasted on TV meant there was always something going on. Still, his comment got to her. Her brow wrinkled a bad habit, usually when she held things back. “My life isn’t perfect.” It could be worse, she knew that, but it wasn’t perfect. She almost laughed though. She really didn’t have it all, but it was none of his business. “You’ve said what? Two words to me before this incident. How do you know what is going on in my life? Is your life perfect? You seem pretty put together, but I’d assume it wasn’t. Peo-….” She shut her mouth. Not wanting to make this worse. She didn’t expect him to laugh at her apology. “Really?” She never expected that one. The violence part got to her though, and she winced. “I’m not a violent person… I wasn’t thinking, and you deserved it, but I shouldn’t have done it.”
She made a valid point, but that didn’t stop Dave from assuming a skinny pretty white girl had it easy. She was well-liked, talented, and from what he could tell, not completely batshit crazy - aside from the shoe throwing incident, in his book that made it seem like she had it together. “I get that, I guess I didn’t know you were going through something big enough that I’d cause you a lot of pain, or whatever. I wasn’t trying to, at least.” He thought he’d said that already, but it was worth mentioning again. “I’m sorry, for whatever you’re going through, I hope I didn’t add onto it too much.” He spoke honestly, knowing all too well what it was like to be going through something major that no one else knew about. To have demons in you that you couldn’t show anyone, and how easy it was for little things to make matters worse. “I don’t need the speech, I know what you mean, I just wasn’t in the right head space, or really thinking things through.” Dave’s brows raised. “Is that why you got violent then? Cause I said what I did and you’re going through something and you just - kinda lost it for a second?”

QUINN: I can uninvite you if it's my party.
QUINN: But since you asked, it's pretty simple. No making fun of us. No causing a riot. And no gross comments. It's a classy affair, but I also want us to have fun.
QUINN: Also, we'll be in 20s style attire, so I suppose you can say that we're putting on an act for the night. If you dare to mock anybody even ONCE, you're out of that door.
DAVE: If that's what you gotta tell yourself
DAVE: So wear some 20's outfit and don't do anything offensive, got it
DAVE: What if I just tease you guys? That's a friendly thing to do, you guys do it to each other, don't you?

Blaine: It's already longer than most people would probably expect.
Blaine: A nice person does things because they are considerate of other people's feelings. Good people just do good things; they strive to be good.
Blaine: I don't care what people would think of me if they knew we were friends. In fact when Jo got slushied and it was assumed that it was someone on the football team but not Ryder, Sam, or Puck... I said that you should also be taken from the suspect list.
Blaine: No, being gay isn't what makes me special. And it doesn't define me, but it is still a large part of who I am. What makes me special is that I believe in people. That I know who I am and am not afraid to show it. And that includes being gay. But also that I'm a bow tie wearing, good grade getting, music loving, boy that likes boys.
Blaine: I'm thrilled you recognized that that would have been ignorant to say. Just because I'm used to it doesn't mean I should have to accept it. Why can't the rest of you learn to get used to my ways the same way I have of yours?
Blaine: It is going to be different for me. It already is different for me. And yes, I'm boy c and guess what, I've already been labeled that. But I'm embracing it. You should make sure we cross paths sometime today so you can check out my message.
Dave: Which one of those do you think I am? Nice or good? Cause I get the feeling I'm neither
Dave: Seriously? That's kinda a big deal. Somehow whenever someone's talking shit about the football team or blaming us for something, those three end up being excluded. Even when the football team is being talked about as a whole, it's nice to be one of the "super special perfect" list of players in someone's book
Dave: That was adorable. I hope you fit that into one of your confessionals, it'd probably be like, inspirational or something. You know, for like, other gay guys to see or whatever
Dave: I'm not completely brain dead, as shocking as it seems. I don't know, man, you're asking some pretty heavy questions. The bible I guess? It's hard getting used to something that's never been the norm or what was taught
Dave: How do you embrace something like that? How do you get labeled and not care?

“This is a bit of a fortuitous meeting,” Blaine explained.  “Were your ears burning because I was just thinking about you.”  He handed over the envelope.  “I put some information on the GSA together for you.  Who we are, what we do, what we stand for.   And what it means to be an ally.”  The smaller boy chewed on his lower lip, “I put it in a sealed envelope and slide it in your locker.  I figured you’d know it was from me.  But it would also be discrete until you could be somewhere private to go over the information.”  Blaine shrugged his shoulders.  “I wouldn’t exactly call it a present, but it is something done for you.  How are you?  How has your week been?” the Warbler asked genuinely.
“Yeah, my ears were on fire.” He smiled, Blaine had a sort of infectious energy that made it impossible not to smile around him. Even Dave had a hard time keeping up his act as the angry tough guy around him. “Oh. Right. You’re really excited about me learning about this stuff, aren’t you?” Taking the envelope, Dave peeled the top to peek inside, flipping through the pamphlets and papers of information stuffed in there. It was certainly enough reading material for Dave to learn what the GSA was all about. The football team didn’t have this much paperwork, that’s for sure. “I might just give all this a once over.” He smirked, sealing the envelope and tucking it under his arm. “I’m good, been flying under the radar most of the week. Things got a little crazy last weekend, so for once I’ve been trying not to add fuel to the fire.”

one guy you would recruit for rugby?

“Not gonna lie, this would be a hell of a lot easier if most of the guys around here weren’t so delicate. First person that comes to mind is my boy Brody, other than that I’d go with Ryder. It’d probably be helpful for him too.” @brodywcston @newbie-lynn

LOCATION : GSA classroom TIME FRAME : September 15, after school OPEN TO: anyone
After speaking to David the last few days and asking him to consider coming to a meeting, Blaine decided to grab a couple of GSA phamplets explaining more in dept what the group was about in hopes of swaying the football player.  He also picked up some information on being an ally.  The sophomore hoped the dialogue that he’d started could lead to something.  And despite what David had said, or thought, Blaine would be happy to consider the football player a friend; especially since the other seemed to really need one sometimes.  Especially within the cast.  The small boy found a brown craft envelope and slid the information inside, sealing it and writing David’s name on it.  He looked up as he heard footsteps.  “Oh, hi,” Blaine said with a smile.
ImageImage
Despite what people thought of him, Dave was capable of taking things to heart; especially when they came from someone he thought highly of. Blaine fell under that category, and as much as Dave wanted nothing to do with the GSA, he could stand to be educated on what they stood for. He was sort of lurking around the halls, trying to make his way to the classroom in hopes of there being a meeting or something he could accidentally walk in on to see what it was about. That’s when he spotted the very person who had him wandering around in the first place. Nodding when he greeted him, Dave’s eyes immediately went to the thing in Blaine’s hand. “What is that?” He asked, tilting his head to try and make out what was written on the envelope he could’ve sworn read his name. And it did. “Is that like a present or something?”

Marley stood there, her arms wrapped around her body protectively merely for the fact that it made her feel some sort of comfort. Until the party, she never interacted with Dave. They didn’t really have classes together, nor did they hang in the same groups, so in many ways his comment took her by surprise, because she never thought he’d even notice her. Before the show, she was fairly certain she was barely a blimp on his radar. She just didn’t know when that changed. Still, she was surprised when he admitted she was right, and her stance became less hostile. As he spoke her arms fell to her side. She listened as he spoke, taking in his words before nodding. “I know I’m not like most people, but think first. I mean it.” Her voice was softer, she really did want him to learn. “You never know what a person is going through, and that isn’t fair. You know that..” She shifted, he became softer which was strange. “It is helping, and I appreciate it. I really hope you mean it, Dave. Being remembered as a bully isn’t a good thing, and you might regret it one day.” Tucking back a strand of hair, Marley shifted once again. “I’m sorry for throwing my shoe at you. I shouldn’t have done that.”
This was -- strange, to say the least. There was really no other way to put it; Dave in the corner of a parking lot, apologizing to someone he’d barely said three words to before this school year, with two guys basically acting as bodyguards a few feet away. If it weren’t for the show he had a feeling things wouldn’t be going down this way at all. Not that he was putting on an act for the camera, he just felt like things were a lot different now than what they used to be. The stakes were higher once your life was being broadcasted to the entire world. “Are you saying you’re going through something?” He asked, quirking his brow. “You look like you’ve got it all, I didn’t think I was piling onto something else that was bothering you.” He knew that didn’t make it better, but he really wasn’t trying to kick her while she was down. The jock let out a chuckle at the mention of the infamous shoe she threw at him; something that seemed crazy at the time, but he was amused by now. “Nah, don’t worry about it, I deserved it. Kinda earned my respect too. Which I know sounds weird, but chucking something my way to shut me up is better than trying to insult me like everyone else tries to do. I’ve got a tough skin, violence is the only thing that works.”

Brody: In some regards, yes.
Brody: The question is, why? Why do you avoid showing people that you have a good side?
Dave: I wouldn't say that too loudly.
Dave: I don't know, I just don't like to I guess.

QUINN: Let it forever be known that you turned down an invite to a Quinn Fabray party.
DAVE: Too late, it's already out there. We both know invitations don't work like that
DAVE: I'd probably get more street cred turning it down, are you kidding?
DAVE: But I'll humor you, what are these so called rules
