I’m rewatching the red shirt scene AKA the official break up scene and it is DEVASTATING NOW

Rewatching made me realize that they are both aware their relationship will not survive at home the way it is now. So admitting that they are going home means admitting that they are breaking up.

So when Pat says “thank you. For indulging a silly guy like me” “you never leave me. You fight by my side. That makes me very happy” Pat is admitting how grateful he is that Pran is willing to stay with him, despite it making him miserable (cause he misses his family). But they both know that they would never truly be happy with only each other, cut off from the rest of their loved ones.

That break up was beautiful. Instead of Pat saying, “we should break up”, he instead said “thank you. Thank you for this beautiful thing we have made together. Thank you for always choosing me, even when your anxieties and fears are telling you to run. And thank you for staying with me while I processed and denied and mourned. Thank you for indulging a silly guy like me. Thank you”

And then Pran says they should go out, get drunk, and celebrate. To spend their last day celebrating their love. A tribute to its beauty and wonder. Which is what their love deserves.

And Pran sings a song he wrote dedicated to their love. And Pat smiles as a tear rolls down his cheek.

God I’m in my feels.

This episode is so devastatingly beautiful.

oh-aew's emotional intelligence though, the fact that he gently "rejects" both bas and q before they explicitly make a move so it looks like less of a rejection and they can stay friends without any awkwardness dskljhgdkjlhgkj

Why am I so dumb? Shu Yi played the piano piece that Shi De had heard in the first episode.

In the 4th episode, when Shi De sings and Shu Yi compliments him, Shi De is literally singing to the piano piece that Shu Yi had played. Shi De wrote down the lyrics for the composition. That's why Shu Yi said, "Good job with the lyrics!".

My dumbass realised it way too late.

You know, just when I think I couldn't possibly love this show anymore, they're like Nah, girl. Here's something else for you to figure out!

Also the choice NOT to use the take where Teh is begging and sobbing for Oh to take him back, how do you not use that take???? I’m not at all saying that Oh should’ve taken him back bc of it but at least it showed us that Teh knew how badly he fucked up and how much he hurt Oh & realized he didn’t want to lose him; but the take they went with made it seem like Teh was upset he got caught while also not wanting to lose Oh bc he’s familiar with him

the only way they could make this entire show even worse is by making teh and oh-aew end up together in the last episode... like that should be the last thing to happen... I want to see oh-aew thriving in his new workplace with maybe a cute office romance or something... NO ONE EPISODE REDEMPTION ARC PLEASE....

exactly this.

they can obviously talk about the past, sort the untouched topics and answer the unanswered questions, but getting back together would show absolutely no growth in the characters.

they will surely not forget what they had, the good parts, and not completely let go of their feelings, but sometimes somethings are better left like this.
