taking off a mask to reveal what lies beneath as a romantic gesture is overdone, and besides i want to see the romantic or even platonic potential of protecting someone's identity beneath the mask, without any expectation of ever being allowed to see what's under it. picking it up and holding it gently to their face when it's knocked off and they're in danger of being exposed, without trying to catch a glimpse of what they "really" look like under there. throwing yourself in front of them to hide them from view while they put themselves back together without taking advantage or looking back to see what you're protecting. learning to read them by body language, tone of voice, and behaviour so well that you never need to see their face to feel like you know and understand them.
and needless to say. the mask stays on during sex.

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)
I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).
Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.
So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.
I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.
I hope we will be dragons.

Tony isn't used to being wooed is the thing. He doesn't really have to be wooed. He's easy and everyone knows it. (Steve knows this and is bound and determined not to be like everyone else. Besides, he really wants to get to know Tony, the true him, and if that means they don't sleep together for the first few months of their relationship, well. He's a patient man. That's one of the things Tony likes about him, after all.)
Anyway Tony feels he can't be faulted for swooning when Steve carefully presses a kiss to the back of his hand and whispers, "May I?" before he even moves in for a kiss to his lips once they're finally making it to home base. Like, almost passes out right where he stands because he is instantly hard. He has never been so mortified in his life, except that Steve curls his free hand around his back to hold him up, cradles him close, as gentle and kind as he's been the entire time.
"You're going to take such good care of me," Tony breathes in realization.
And Steve smiles, wide and earnest, and says, "I'm going to be thorough about it too."
