Today, I am here on behalf of Cal, whom everyone mysteriously decided unanimously to start calling Tiberias.

This isn’t an oddity; it is after all, his name. However, for the majority of the series he is called and referred to as Cal. Even, if I might add, fondly so.

I am speaking to you today on behalf of all of the things I have seen, the disruption of support. First, I will say that yes, Cal is dumb sometimes. I also will state that Maven is my favorite character. Note: I am aware of how wicked he is, and the things he has done. I am also aware of what has been done to him. Also noted, that his actions are not justified nor dismissed. I do not support them or him; I do however, recognize him as a valuable and wonderful character.

Moving on.

Please open King’s Cage to page 502 where the epilogue begins – or you make skip to page 504 to 505. The latter is most important.

On 504, Cal says, “Mare, think of what I can do. What kind of king I can be.” She replied fairly and with a good point. Why do they need another king? But then, of they don’t elect a status or position of power, after being so accustomed to some form of authority, (more) chaos will ensue. And I mostly mean this because power is a game among Silvers. They need to be kept in check as much as the Reds and Ardents. Something needs to be established; maybe not a monarchy of Silvers but, something.

Cal has had significant growth, seen and unseen throughout the series. He has learned a great deal, having grown up to be groomed for the position of King and soldier. But he has also had his trials, and has had to roll with the Guard – both willingly and unwillingly. He has been exiled essentially by his own kind, and reluctantly “accepted” and or tolerated among the ranks of the SG and others. He was even a prisoner of sorts for a while.

And he learned. He watched. He obeyed. He took action. He aided. damn it Cal grew as a person and deserves more respect and recognition for his efforts.

Pg 505, Cal asks, Mare to choose him. And follows up with the following words: “Think what we could do together.”

I genuinely think Cal and Mare could have…I don’t know? Changed things. I think it was a risk they should have hauled ass to catch and ride together. I think Cal now, could be a fitting king. And Mare, maybe not quite a fitting queen, but it would open up negotiations, diversity, and a possible coexistence and peace to gradually, and eventually come through and be established.

So yea. Anyway this is my shit post for Cal whom everyone now spitefully calls Tiberias because he supposedly “chose a crown” over Mare (no he didn’t and really he doesn’t actually have a choice, the situation is delicate tbh).
