my last post lost traction so i'm making a new one!

thank you to those who have been sharing and donating, we would literally still be homeless if not for the funds, thank you

i guess i don't know what to say except we're three disabled trans roommates with a cat who lost almost all our belongings in an apartment fire with no renter's insurance and we've had to magically make up money to afford a new place, and are significantly in debt

the management company is horrible and we're kind of barely keeping a handle on things

i can make you art or write for you or do tarot readings online or petsit for you if you're in chicago

Véra Nabokov, Vladimir Nabokov’s editor and wife (among so many other things), mentioned in interviews with her biographer that he threw the Lolita manuscript into a fire several times (she pulled it out). Vladimir Nabokov spoke openly about his fear that the industry and an idiot public would pervert his book into a saucy sex fantasy instead of a study on predatory patriarchal horror. I hate how right he was.

Honestly, society has lost something big when they started putting ads on “Never Gonna Give You Up”. It used to be you clicked a link, and you heard that synth music and you just groaned. Nowadays, you see a link, go, “that might be Rick Astley”, then you click it, Youtube plays an ad for dog food and you see below that is indeed Rick Astley. You go, “ah, yes, that was indeed a link to that music video. Do I feel like watching the video today or not? Probably  not, but I have the entire ad time to decide”. It’s essentially a global “do you really want to get Rickrolled?” filter.

This is really one of the best and most important reasons for using an adblocker: So you can get the proper rickroll experience. Here are some good ones for your platform.

Ryan Gainer was a 15 year old Autistic Black boy who was shot and killed by police in California.

Ryan seemed to have been having a meltdown, he was holding a gardening tool, police were called to the house but they are refusing to release any body cam footage of the shooting and refusing to state how many times Ryan was shot, they failed to help him before the paramedics arrived.

After shooting him Ryan's family was then forced out of their home while the police rummaged through their house looking for any justifiable cause for shooting Ryan.

This is hardly the first time the San Bernardino police department has attacked or killed people having a mental health crisis.

Rest in Power Ryan.

the police dept released edited clips from bodycam footage but of course not of the shooting itself or anything that could implicate the cops. they left him lying on the ground for several minutes after shooting him so that they could ramsack his family's home. and there's evidence that prompt medical attention could have saved his life.
