rory is still dipping into adolescence and changes to the routine (eg pike returning home) are really distressing her right now and i don't have the wherewithal to hold her hand through it so I hid her breakfast kibble all around the apartment for her to sniff out, get endorphined loser

#tricking her brain into making happy chemicals so she can chill tf out#shes not even being bad shes just not able to cope#i dropped my toothbrush and found her cowering in her crate#shes the kind of dog that if she were rehomed they would assume she was abused#extremely disheartening#im seeing less of it as she moves away from peak adolescence so hopefully#once shes grown we wont see this much if at all#dogblr#about aurora#dog enrichment

Pike isn't my dog, she belongs to Miles over at @tea-time-terrier! Miles and I are friends irl so we hang out pretty often and keep each other's dogs when one of us goes out of town.

Finally got around to trimming up her undercarriage (which is an ordeal because she tolerates grooming with the grace of an ice cream cone on a hot day) and she looks soooo much cleaner wow

#dogblr#rory borealis#a day in the life#its not perfect but we have a couple months until her next show#this was mostly to get the bulk off#ill trim her with shears closer to her next show#this was just with a clipper#so long dirty tummy hair#she hated it btw#i love the idea of cooperative care but unfortunately thats just not my reality#we are very much a 'sit still and i will do this as quickly and painlessly as possible' for all grooming and veterinary needs

wow arory pointed a grouse on our run tonight with so much conviction that I was certain there was a bird (and there was!!) AND she held steady while I moved closer and until I sent her after the flush !!!!!!!! my baby dog is growin !!!!!!
