THE IRS website will let you fill out and file your return THERE ON THE IRS SITE.  You pay like $12 for the actual electronic filing process, and THAT’s IT!

Unless you have tremendous amounts of Schedule D stock shit, TurboTax is NOTHING BUT A RIPOFF!!!

The IRS website is EXCELLENT.  They allow you to look up your past returns, and have every bit of information you MIGHT POSSIBLY NEED!

Friendly reminder as well that if you’re making less than $66,000 a year, you don’t need to pay to file your taxes and also all tax-paying softwares (eg rhymes with FurboFax) have a free filing option hidden in their websites.

Can I just say how much I hate retail work and I hate how much bullshit we have to deal with? Like, here was something that happened like an hour into my shift.

*A man comes into my checkout lane and sets a can of paint down and I scan it then he takes our spray hand sanitizer and sprays his kids hands then his own then looks at me*

*I do that and he sprays my hands with it, I'm a little irritated at this point with him due to him not even asking first then he proceeds to say*

Then he has the AUDACITY to laugh as if it were a joke, I'm so sick of people like him coming through my line, cause IT DIDNT STOP THERE, he proceeded to offend me and I couldn't do anything about it without risking my job, fuck you, dude

There needs to be bouncers in retail that can defend employees against asshole customers like this. Also a system to where we can simply be rude to one customer a month if they're rude to us first.

depending on tone he was either halfway-apologizing for pulling a dad move on a young person who isn't his kid (implication: sorry, force of habit, of course you can do this yourself) or passive-aggressively referencing that you didn't sanitize before you touched his paint can, idiocy considering it's a product likely handled by like a gazillion consumers and employees before him and you both

if it's the latter i'll add in my 2 cents here that people who have higher-than-average sensitivity to germs need to recognize that they are entitled to the baseline hygiene practiced by the general public and they can require no further action from anyone except themselves. once got accosted in a starbucks well after the mask mandates ended by another patron who was angry i wasn't masking in a room full of unmasked people. public temper tantrums that boil down to "not everyone behaves and thinks like me!!1" must end

I once saw my boss go off on a customer and I stood there shocked af. She wouldn't allow me to go off on customers or a co-worker that was bullying me but she would do it herself since she was the manager.

Thats honestly the best, I love it when managers will go all out for the people working under them, that's what makes a good manager in my opinion, you got my back I got yours
