"Mmmmmmm... I dunno." She has to think about that. "I mean I'm not gonna be the one who needs a wish though, right? I'll be the ones granting them, so... I don't think it matters much. People will know what they want when they come to play against me, and it'll be fun too! Less painful for them than the Trials look like they are." The next card is... a jack. That means twenty-three-- "Fuck!" exclaims Queenie, making a face. "I lost."

Queenie was strange, to say the least. Nathan couldn't entirely read the girl. She continuously surprised him with each sentence she said. Did she...care about humans? Now that was a strange thought. Especially considering who two of her parents was. Granted, he didn't know much about Amanda. Could never get close enough to observe her in the safety of her fortress.

"You have lost indeed. You can go again, and increase the severity of your punishment, or you can give up now. But, if you win the next game, I'll give you a special prize." Of course there were no punishments and prizes here. She was just a kid who barely knew anything about the world. He was simply curious to see which option was more tempting in her eyes.

When he gave her the chance to double down, a wicked grin drew across Queenie's face. "Yeah, okay! I wanna go again." She could handle whatever the bad thing was. She was all about risk, and this guy was really fascinating.

“That makes sense.” Queenie looks across the cards— eight plus five means… she can probably go again, right? “I dunno if I’d be able to give them that, unless I had a lot of blood— but there’s other things people like, right?” She hums. “If you could wish for something besides that, what would it be? —One more, please.”

What would he wish for? He thinks over it, as he deals her another card. He doesn't plan on telling Queenie. But it has been a long time since he thought over it. What would he want other than freedom? Perhaps revenge. But that wasn't possible. Not when there were so many powerful eyes resting on her. "What would you want, if someone offered you anything?"

“Oooh, OK!” She picks her card up, not even reading it before— “Gimme a second one, please. And the blood has people’s souls in it! Just a little, but it’s there. Bonny told me about it. So you have to pay blood when playing the game if I’m winning, but if you win all the way then… I don’t know at that point,” she admits. “But it’ll be something really good. Something everyone wants.”

He flicked another card over the table towards her, blowing out the smoke he inhaled from his cigarette. But when she mentioned Bonny, the scowl on his face was clear. Without the mask to hide it, he didn't control his expression fast enough to prevent it from forming. This kid was untouchable. He had to make sure not to upset Queenie.

"Everyone wants freedom," he mused, flicking some of the ash onto the floor. That's what those idiots were fighting for in the gardens, no? They were ready to kill and be killed just for the fake promise of freedom. Having known the Bastard for as long as he had, he had a feeling that this was all just a pretty lie. There was no way he'd release anybody.

“I don’t care about their excitement!” Queenie paused. “--Well, I kinda do. But I care about their blood more. Mama and Daddy and Fia helped me figure out how to make it so it takes blood during the game as part of it. It’s like a rule... A bet, that’s it.”

It shouldn't be surprising that when you mix an Entity and a killer you end up with a little monster. So she wasn't as innocent as one could've initially thought. Blood to play a game. He was somewhat curious to hear more about it now. Maybe with Amanda's love for torture the kid followed in her footsteps.

"What do you do with the blood?" He asked idly and passed her a card. "Look at the card and tell me if you want one more. You have to reach 21 to win. Numerical cards are as they go, Ace can be 1 or 11, Jack, Queen, and King are 10. If you go above 21, you get a punishment. You understand?"

“You don’t have very good hearing,” she decides. “It’s a big card game. With prizes! ‘Cause trials are stupid, and everyone wants things so everyone will wanna play, so I’ll be the strongest Entity out there. Stronger than daddy, even.” She beams. “And anyone can play. I don’t know the name yet, though.”

"Yeah, well~" he simply shrugged her comment off and shifted in his seat to sit sideways to the table. And as she explained and babbled on, he took out a cigarette to light it for himself. That included shifting the mask slightly to the side exposing the healthy skin of his face but nothing above the nose. "Do you think their excitement of playing a child's card game is enough to feed you?"

“I don’t care about their excitement!” Queenie paused. “--Well, I kinda do. But I care about their blood more. Mama and Daddy and Fia helped me figure out how to make it so it takes blood during the game as part of it. It’s like a rule... A bet, that’s it.”

“Oh! New things are fun, let’s do something new.” Queenie grabs a deck from the corner, shuffling it surprisingly well for a small child. “I’m working on something new too, but it’s not done yet.” She makes a face, like she’s frustrated. “So do you not have a name?”

"Oh yeah? What are you working on?" he asked, certain that the kid would focus on the topic of the project, rather than her question. It was the norm for him to answer questions with a question of their own. It kept the conversation going, whilst not forcing him to spill any information. And whilst she'd be busy talking, he started shuffling the deck.

The first two games he expected of a kid, but poker? Not that he didn't consider it a game for a child, but it was rare to meet someone so young who knew how to play. Most considered it a game for adults. Nathan considered it just a game. It wasn't like she would spiral into a life of gambling just because she knew how to play. And even if, it wasn't something he cared about.

Still, it wasn't necessarily entertaining to play poker with a kid. Especially when winning or losing held no consequences or rewards. But, still, it was better than being out there serving others. And for that reason, he had allowed himself to sit opposite from Queenie, his body parallel to the table, and his elbow rested on top.

"We can play a round of poker if you want," he answered, ignoring her latter questions. "I can also teach you something new if you want."

The killer groaned, having been returned to life following his accident in the gardens. It still pissed him of to have been so careless around prey. Regardless if she was a survivor, a killer, hell, she could've even been a god for all he cared, he shouldn't have allowed her to have such an easy kill. The irritation scratching at his brain called for searching his pocket for a packet of cigarettes. Something that wasn't there.

Queenie was spending a lot of time in the quiet room today. It wasn’t like she couldn’t go anywhere else, because her parents were everybody’s boss right now and if someone broke the rules, they’d destroy them... But it was loud out there. Really loud. And she didn’t want to have to push through people to go see the garden. And there was no one to talk to.

She was bored, plain and simple. By the time someone walked in, she had fully unshuffled and spread out a deck of cards, arranged in a nice neat grid from worst to best. Fuck that, though, now there was this new guy, and he was going to play cards with her! “I know some games!” She nods, smiling behind her baboon mask as she scraped the cards all back together and put them back into a single deck. “I knowwwww go fish, and I know old maid but that one’s boring... I know poker? Do you know that one?” Her mom had suggested that one after Queenie’d asked her for the tenth time to show her how to “be cool for when Bonny gets back”. “What’s your name, by the way? And are you having fun?” She wants to get to know her new friend.

[ Send 💐 (bouquet if you can't see the emote) to receive flowers from one of my boys for Valentine's day ] @a-swines-baptism

The Entity did not expect to receive flowers, it wasn't something that he normally experienced. But upon reading the tag attached, a smile formed on his lips. He'd have to go to Queenie once he had the chance. Until then, he'd send a flower crown in return.

A small attached letter thanked Queenie for her lovely gift. It also informed her, that if she wishes to they can walk through the garden and observe the multiple plants growing there. He would also teach his daughter about the flower meaning he learned from the mortals.

Survivor oc, a lawyer whose goal is to take the Entity to court for a multitude of charges.

Lawyer survivor: You have warning label stating "to be used by qualified personnel" on your generators whilst in fact, those who operate them are NOT qualified. You have pallets dropped on the unexpecting victims risking potential skull fractures. You encourage murder, an illegal act in itself. You kidnap and hold people against their wills. You-

Bass: Don't care should be the next statement. I agree. Unfortunately for your case, none of these break any of the rules within the area those mortals reside in. For the fog follows only one set of rules. My rules. Now onto your next trial, fancy thing

It's Bass birthday! Lucas planned since winterfest to give Bass cat hat's ....but.... he is still angry about there last argument. Lucas flys with his mosquito wings to Bass and hand him the gift.

"You only get that because it would have been a waste to throw it in the fire."

The Bastard didn't know if he should laugh or scoff at Lucas' approach. Why bother giving a gift, if it hurt him so much? Never mind that. Bass still accepted the three hats with a smile.

"Thank you, Lucas. I'm grateful for your gift." The tone remained calm and pleasant, the Bastard not wishing to bring any tension into this. He had to show class. And it wasn't him who held a grudge between the pair.

The hats were taken by the fog, placed in his private realm. They'd not be worn by the Bastard. Instead, he decided that as there were three, they would be perfect for his children. One for each, and they'd get to decide which one prefers which style.

"I do hope you'll enjoy your stay. Perhaps we could improve our relationship at a glass of wine later once I'm free?"

Eli straddles the gods lap, one hand moving to play with the new bunny ear, while the other rest on his thigh. "You know.. bunnies this time of year are known for hiding eggs." His hand moves to the others crotch as he leans in a bit. "I have a couple places i could think to help you hide them."

At first, the comment seemed innocent, the Bastard feeling like he's learning something new about the mortal traditions. But then he catches the full meaning of what Eli is offering, and he chokes on his words. His mind tries to spurt out so many sentences at the same time, but they just collide in his mouth forcing him to release an incoherent sound instead.

The god's free ear twitches and he looks at his husband to make sure he was being serious. Perhaps this was all just for the sake of teasing, but- Maybe it was the other's true intent? If it was, who was he to deny his cute little angel some fun?

"Careful or you just might force this bunny into heat" he finally responds, whispering into Eli's ear.

You've become such a loner. It's time to come back out. Rise and shine, Amanda.

It's been a while since any new notes came-- Amanda doesn't worry as much about picking this one up. "Loner? Honestly, I think I've just been settling a bit. Somehow, being an employee of a weird, foggy Hell feels kinda natural nowadays. Sorry it hasn't been as entertaining for all you, recently, but that sounds like a you problem."

{Hi hi! It has been a while, hasn't it? My only real answer to that, personally, is that I've been busy and kinda floated away from tumblr Rp as of late. I'd love to come back to this blog in time, but we'll see!}

With more time lately to reflect on himself, the survivor’s own name had started to bother him. When he’d named himself all those years ago it was out of the hate he had felt for himself. Judas. Betrayer. It was a punishment to remember his wrongdoings no matter what and he had carried that weight with him all this time, but perhaps it was time to put it to rest.

He had seemingly died, or at least ended up in a weird sort of purgatory. He had married two people he loved. He had been in a lot of pain and inflicted almost as much onto others. He was a different person now then the trembling person who had cried as they washed the blood from their hands.

A name. He had considered different names before, but for some reason now this felt more weighty. Laying back in his tent he went over an almost endless list of names. His favorite artist, his friends in the fog, perhaps naming himself after the man who had taken him in at the radio station. However, one name stood out more than the rest.

It was not someone famous, it was just a man he’d chanced a ride with one time. It held nothing special to it except for having the first three letters of the name he was called in childhood. Mumbling it to himself a few times he tried to feel it out. A soft hum escaped him as he stood, moving to the edge of his camp and talking out into the mist.

“I would like you to call me Elijah from now on.”
