It is so frustrating to me that someone at one point was like “let’s take this book from 1728 and cut the text block into a perfect rectangle so it can be bound into a hardcover and put on a shelf”.

Bro, you cut off the title page and the text runs so close to the gutter it’ll now be a pain in the ass - if not impossible - to fully digitize.

I love Ayo Edebiri but this look is quite plain. Elevate the theme, girl!

I really love it tbh - it has so much visual interest and tiny detail. I cannot make up my mind if it’s paper, fabric, marzipan, fondant, clay…

I would prefer Dan Levy's look if it were full flower print. It would be fun & funky.

Ok I like it but the fade is really throwing me off for some reason. It’s so…strange looking? I’ll have to find a closer up or high res picture because my eyes do not understand what’s happening.

Happy MET Gala day! I'll be posting about looks I feel like I have something to say about but feel free to drop a celebrity in the ask box if you want opinions. I personally think it's a very intriguing theme this year.

What is this years theme?

The 2024 Met Gala will celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the official dress code is “The Garden of Time.” The exhibit will feature approximately 250 rare items drawn from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection. Spanning over 400 years of fashion history, the pieces will include designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more. Some garments that are too fragile to ever be worn again—such as a Charles Frederick Worth ball gown from 1877—will also be displayed via video animation, light projection, AI, CGI, and other forms of sensory stimulation. Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute, added that the exhibition will be shaped around three main “zones”—Land, Sea, and Sky—that pay tribute to the natural world. “It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” he said.

It’s giving floral traffic cone that got stuck in the mud.

There’s something unsettling about driving home a way you don’t usually go because you need to pick up your medication, then deciding to avoid the highway because traffic and it’s nice outside so I’ll drive the side road with my windows down, then thinking “oh the pet store is right there. Do I need to stop for anything?” Usually the answer is “yes, the cats/dog need this thing so I’ll run in and grab it”. But for once, the answer was “no” so I continued driving and then got stuck at the intersection light and watched as three cop cars fucking booking it in the opposite direction (which is rare because the cops around here famously book it to nothing) and as I’m pulling into my apartment complex an ambulance blaring its horn with unusual urgency goes flying past.

Come to find out, two people - one with a gun, one with a knife - were at the previous intersection/in the pet store parking lot and someone died and the other was severely injured.

So…I guess I’m glad I didn’t witness a fucking homicide yesterday.

Why is this the only photo I have of the 2017 total eclipse?? What was 2017 me thinking?? Also totally forgot how much of a potato my phone camera was until I finally upgraded…

It’s supposed to be overcast and raining on Monday and I am SO. BUMMED.
