Once upon a time, there was a UK/Ireland based company called Piehole, that allowed hopeful voice actors to upload demos of their talents - which were then posted on Piehole’s website for prospective employers to peruse.

The company still exists, but has moved on to commercial video work.

Their original website is no longer online, but snapshots of it can still be found online, particularly on the WaybackMachine - and, if you’re lucky, some of the voice actors’ public pages can still be seen, as well. You’ll need to copy/paste the link in your browser to see it, because Tumblr’s being a jerk. Or you can just view it right here:

Look at that fine, enterprising young man! Why, someone should probably hire him and make him a star. Oh, and what’s that? There’s a demo right there. You can even download it. Alas, when you click on the link, Wayback Machine tells you no such file exists. This is because they don’t have a snapshot of the file, and the way their site is structured, the link to it is appended.

However… the file is still there. If you remove Wayback Machine’s addition to the link itself, the file is right where it’s meant to be, and has been for nearly 10 years now, just waiting to be found ;)

Now, I confess… I didn’t know at first if I should share this or not. I am extremely protective of our boy Colin, and I would never share anything I felt might harm him or his career in the least. But I’ve decided to share this, because (1) it’s fucking adorable (2) it’s actually a damn good demo, so there’s nothing here that should embarrass him or harm his career (3) it was provided by Colin himself to this website for public access (4) it’s still completely accessible to the public (5) did I mention it’s fucking adorable?!

Honestly, I feel that it would be a crime to keep this to myself and not share it with Colin’s fans. It’s such a cute, fun snippet from Colin’s early career, and I sincerely believe that sharing it will do him no harm and does not constitute a breach of his privacy. So here it is ~ enjoy! <3

Something that some fans are ignoring: "Warners has shifted its focus to a Supergirl movie, which will be an origin story featuring a teen superheroine. This effectively removes an actor of Cavill's age from the storyline's equation given that Superman..." I would LOVE to see Colin as Superman or in any big movie, but I think the article is just speculation based on him being on the shortlist years ago. And his family/agent are just happy for the positive buzz.

I think you are right on the money about all of it.

As you intimate, Colin is actually older than Cavill.

Hopefully, most fans are just having fun speculating, but I would temper expectations.

If you ever get anon hate for posting something, just delete the ask and block the anon and then post like a whole shit ton of the stuff they complained about, because then not only are they refreshing your blog waiting for a response that will never be posted, they’re also having to sit through even more of the stuff they hate.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even imagine there could even be a “distinction” if those attention-craving assholes hadn’t said that.

I do blame myself and my big mouth partially for their nonsense.

I made the mistake of defending the name (which was already being attacked by people as “unnecessary” and “divisive” and “Hook erasure”) by saying that some people (like myself) just wanted a way to show Colin that he has fans who are standing beside him and supporting his work even in the chaotic fandom environment of S7. My mistake wasn’t in saying or thinking that, mind you. My mistake was in not realizing sooner that my words would be twisted into the raison d’etre of the name itself, instead of just being one person’s opinion.

Because it’s just that: MY opinion. It’s not the mission statement of the O’DonoCrew. It never was. It was just my thoughts, and I was dumb enough to share them with idiots who twisted them into something ugly. I still stand by the opinions I held then (and still hold now).

Honestly, anyone who looks at the fandom reaction to S7 and can’t understand how an actor might feel abandoned by some of his fans is a fucking moron. People who claimed to be his “fans” were berating him for not quitting his job when Jen left, or for being friends with his new coworkers, or posting a selfie with someone he works with, or not posting one with Jen, or not missing her enough, or not answering questions about her properly… the list goes on. They were actively boycotting his work and campaigning for him to lose his job. And these people still (rightfully!) call themselves “Hookers”, because they’re fans of Hook. In fact, they justify their shitty behavior towards Colin and his recent work by claiming they're “defending” the character they love.

And that’s fair! They’re big fans of Hook, and their dismay over how the character was treated/handled in S7 is very valid and they’re absolutely entitled to express it. But by choosing to support Hook to the point that they disrespected or disparaged Colin himself, they distanced themselves from other fans of Colin’s, and made the name “Hookers” no longer synonymous with “fans of Colin O’Donoghue”. The name still means “fans of Hook” and it always will, but it no longer guarantees someone supports or even respects Colin.

THEY did that, by the way. No one did that TO them.

So yes. For me, adopting the new name was largely about reassuring Colin  (especially with the end of OUAT on the horizon at the time) that he’s still got fans who actively support HIM and his entire career - and will continue to do so, regardless of the characters he plays, the storylines he acts out, or the ships his characters are a part of.

But I don’t own the name. I’m not the gatekeeper. Anyone can consider themselves part of the O’DonoCrew. The only “rules” are supporting, respecting and adoring Mr. Colin O’Donoghue. If you do those things, welcome to the crew. If you don’t… Well, keep on hating. Hope you choke on it.

Welcome Mates!

We’re excited to welcome all O’Donocrew mates and Hookers to the O’Donocrew Fundraising blog, which will be used to try and gather all fundraising projects created for or inspired by Colin O’Donoghue to help them reach a wider audience.

Our first project on the blog is fundraising for BC Children’s Hospital.

On Saturday 15th September 2018, Colin will be playing at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s Legends & Stars soccer match, which will be supporting BC Children’s Hospital.

As Colin’s fans are spread across the world, we’re not all able to attend the match so instead we’d like to show our support by raising as much money as we can for BC Children’s Hospital. Colin has approved of this activity and we hope he’ll be proud of our efforts!

We’d like to co-ordinate all fundraising efforts from each part of Colin’s fandom so we’re able to present a united front and a total amount to him closer to the time.

We only have a month to organise this and we need your help!

Can you write fics or create art in return for donations?

Can you create a limited edition item to be sold?

Can you make a design that can be sold on t-shirts and other merchandise on Redbubble?

Please note: we are not looking to make any money out of this. All profits will go to BC Children’s Hospital.

We’re really sad to see that a small number of individuals on Twitter seem to have taken against our fundraiser due to the name ‘O’Donocrew’ being attached to it.

We want to reassure everyone that there are no ‘rules’ on who can and cannot take part in our fundraising activities. All Colin fans are welcome to take part, whether they label themselves as Hookers, O’Donocrew or simply as a Colin fan.

We hope that the debate over fandom names won’t detract from the good deed we are trying to carry out. This fundraiser is about supporting Colin and the charity he’s chosen to support by agreeing to play a charity football match.

Our only wish is to make Colin proud and make as much money as we can for the BC Children’s Hospital.

Oh my God.

Okay, I really wanted to stay away from this drama, but if any fucker asks why I’m against antis… this is fucking why.

We’re trying to raise awareness for a charity event. And those fuckers are going against it, all because of their inability to set aside their fandom issues.

Going against a charity event is how you lose moral high ground. Complaining about the badly dealed-with rape storyline? Null. Nada. Once you try to sabotage a real-life good deed, you don’t get to play the victim about how a TV show was written.

Seriously. Who the fuck gets uppity about a charity project for sick little kids, because of petty fandom issues?

I mean, honestly? Fuck ‘em.

Do they think Colin’s gonna see their behavior and be like, “Oh, wow, these fans who are protesting a charity project being done for me and bullying the fans behind it, based solely on their hatred of some of my latest work, are totally as supportive of me as the ones running it. They’re such amazing fans of mine, and I can totally depend on them to support me in the future.”??

Nah, he’s not going to think that. But they don’t care what he thinks, anyway. Because their PRIORITY is being butthurt over S7 and (let’s be honest here) the lack of CS and the continuation of Hook as a character without Emma. The rape storyline is just their Teflon coating that they hope means their shit flies without any real opposition, because “OMG YOU MUST SUPPORT RAPE”.

I mean, thanks for basically proving why we adopted the O’DonoCrew name in the first place, guys: to distance ourselves from your wank.

Now get the fuck out of my fandom, you’re lowering the property value.

Lovely O'Donocrew mates and Hookers, I need your help!

Colin is playing in the Vancouver Whitecaps Legends & Stars game in September and he’s given us his approval on Twitter to do some fundraising for BC Children’s Hospital on his behalf in the weeks leading up to the match.

We’d love to raise as much money as we can to show him our support and I need your ideas on how we can best do this!

I’m planning to offer my fic writing services in return for donations and I’d love it if a few of us authors could get involved in something like that!

Come and chat to me, shipmates! I want to make this happen and I need YOU!

Author friends - would you be willing to club together with me and offer fics in return for donations?

Artists - how about you? Could you make art/edits in return for donations?

I need your help!

We have a month, let’s make this happen!

I’m an author! I can help! Just point me in a direction and off I go! :D

GROWING & LIVING

“This is so cool, mom! I can’t wait to ride with Hope!! *Henry smiles at his baby sister*

“Hmm… Killian, you’re not actually considering this, are you?” *Emma says in a worried tone*

“Come on love, it was a gift from your father. And besides, our Hope is a pirate princess, it’s time she learns how to ride.”

“Time? She’s 4!”

“Aye, love, that she is. But she’s also our daughter and you and I both know quite well that she’s not going to be happy until she masters this skill. It’ll be fine. I’ll be with her the entire time.”

“I just don’t think….”

“What is this really about, Emma?”

*Sigh* I’m just scared. She’s growing too fast, Killian. Soon she’ll be leaving us and going on her own adventures.”

“Oh, my love. We still have plenty of time before that. And remember, we have to live the moments the best we can. Let’s worry about that when time comes. And you know… we can always make more little ones *wink*

That makes Emma laugh. She then looks at her two kids and her husband and thinks it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have one more. But the horse thing… well, she’s not really ready, but she knows that she won’t be able to say no to her little girl.

““Ok, baby! Let’s tame this beast.”

Anonymous asked:

why do you think the general fandom coddled the bullies and let them get away with everything then blame everything on those who ship cs?

Simple. Because Captain Swan became the gold standard of everything when it comes to romantic storytelling and CS shippers were spoiled beyond belief with slow burn goodness that culminated in real, constant, permanent payoff and cast and crew that loved and supported the pairing as much as we did and entertainment media who gave us mountains of material to enjoy.

It’s so rare. (Seriously, negative nancies who complain constantly about the small stuff, must never have shipped another couple or are just generally pessimists because the truth was, overall, we had it as good as it gets when it comes to shipping. True story.)

That kind of succeeds and windfall causes jealousy, resentment and backlash among those who aren’t getting the same.

Especially when those flames are fanned by bitter, resentful, crack shippers who aren’t getting what they want (and where CS is an active barrier to their ship leaving fanon) and they create a vicious toxic environment for all.

Combine those things with the FACT that Captain Swan became the biggest fandom (they feared size would give us sway and that it would take time away from their favs) and you can see why things sometimes felt the way you described.
