First it was the Mexicans, legal citizens born here from immigrant parents, that were claimed as non citizens. Now it’s the children of gay parents. Don’t you see what’s happening? Disenfranchisement. Classic fascism. We’re heading towards a totalitarian regime folks. Trump is a white supremacist and him and his administration won’t stop until they’ve recreated Hitler’s Nazi Germany.

Hitler didn’t start as histories greatest monster, or he wouldn’t have gained the power he got. It was only after he became too powerful to be removed that he revealed his true nature. You have to look for the warning signs and there are a lot of them with the Trump administration. Like, big red flags with glowing flares.

The worst thing is that Hitler had to put some effort into gaining his power, while Trump has been waving his red flags as high as possible since the start and no one seems to care…

This is probably worse than what the headline suggests.

The gay couple in the story, the Kivitis, were married. They had a child via surrogacy in Canada. The child is biologically theirs, however, the surrogacy makes the child “born out of wedlock”.

So you could be married and not have your children. That’s what’s going on here, which is probably worse than what the headline is suggesting.

Do NOT Support ‘Adam’ When The Film Comes Out

I’ve talked about this before on this blog but this is the most disgustingly transphobic and lesbophobic narrative I’ve ever come across.

The book Adam by Ariel Schrag is being turned into a movie which has been named as one of the most exciting LGBTQ films of the year. You should know before watching that the book is about a cis boy who pretends to be a trans man in order to persuade lesbians to sleep with him.

Yeah… you read that right.

Book plot summary: 

It is deeply deeply transphobic. To imply that our identities are just costumes for other people to put on erases who we are as people. More than that, to imply it is done to trick people into sex is a dangerous lie that literally gets us killed.

It is also deeply lesbophobic. To fuel this narrative that lesbians can be “fixed” by having sex with a man leads to real corrective rapes happening. 

Here is a review of the book by a trans man. I have yet to find one by a lesbian but will edit this if I do.

This book gives out incredibly harmful notions about trans men and lesbians that are used to hurt them in real life. It’s so entrenched in the narrative that I don’t see how the film can possibly be any better.

I do not say any of this lightly. it’s very very rare for me to call out a piece of fiction or for me to decide that a story is unfixable. But this… there’s no excuse for the bigotry in this. 

I’d like to tell people to boycott it but I can’t tell you what to do. So instead I’m going to ask that you share this because it being named as an exciting new LGBTQ film is going to make LGBTQ teens want to see it. And they should know beforehand how hurtful it could be. They should be able to arm themselves with that knowledge.

Don’t make queer kids see this film believing it will represent them only to be exposed to this hatred of their identities.

Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. I remember a while ago here in UK there were stroke-identifying adverts. Their catchphrase was FAST:

We managed to save my nana with this information when she had her first stroke. 

SAVE A LIFE.

I remember the F.A.S.T one

F.ace ask them to smile. And whichever side droops or can’t smile. Remember it and tell the doctor

A.rms ask them to stand in a T pose. Which ever arm falls down or can’t do it. Remember it and tell the doctor

S.peach ask them to say their name. Do they stutter,have trouble or say it very slowly? If yes take them to the hospital immediately

T.ime make a note if what time it happened. Like op said if a neurologist can get there fast enough they can reverse it.

If they check all of the above? Go to the hospital F.A.S.T
