This scene was so emotional to me. I can't imagine what those boys went through, especially Nils who is attracted to guys. It was beyond messed up and one of the most powerful men in the country participated. Erik and his cohort were third years, and they were just first years. And the way August and Nils are actually talking to each other for once, and it's about how they were afraid to speak up and how they promised to end that part of the initiation for future first years, heartbreaking. </3

The fact that August ends the show on decent enough terms with Wille thinking he’s free of responsibility, only to lose “the girl” & discover how much he doesn’t want the title of king (and for the last shot of him to show the soul-crushing realization) is pure poetry.

season 3 being one long 5 times they get interrupted and 1 time they don’t fic is absolutely sending me

so the queen gets to step back because of her mental breakdown thus putting more pressure on Wille when Wille wasn’t even allowed to properly mourn the loss of his brother and adjust to his new royal title… sounds about right

It’s interesting how when it’s Wille having anxiety and outbursts it’s an embarrassing problem that needs to be fixed. But when it’s the queen who is depressed, sick and suffering from insomnia it’s illness that she needs rest and care for
