“You guys are all right here in my heart. I’ll never forget this group of guys and this team. What happened out there tonight was no accident. I know that, uh, we fought the game a bit, but I truly believe that that love and passion that you have for each other was what pushed you guys through to the end and just to watch the excitement you guys had was amazing for me so thanks for that. And thanks for an unbelievable year.”

sabres vibes are immaculate.

1. Team loves each other and it’s a team where “you can be yourself.” They want to be there, they want to be apart of the future. They want to be lifers, they want to grow and be better. It’s a team full of best friends and young guys who see greatness in their numbers. Countless players have said they love it, they don’t want this season to end, and they’re just have fun!

2. They fight for each other. They celebrate every win, every milestone, every single goal and point. They know what it feels like to not have those things happen, and now they know each others stats and they celebrate when they pass those milestones. Owen’s first win and goal. Tage’s career high in points and goals. Jeff Skinner’s 500 point. Craig’s 300th win as starting goalie. RJ’s night. Like they are winning but especially winning when it counts. They might not be in the playoffs, but they worked their way to the top and we have goal scorers up and down our lines and defensemen who can do it all AND goalies we can count on. The team is fully rounded and they’ve taken on teams like Toronto, Carolina, Calgary and Florida and won or gave them hell to play against.

3. Don Granato literally is the best coach. He has nothing but good things to say about his boys. Even in losses, he see’s their effort and he acknowledges what needs to be done but also what HAS been done. Every guys he is personal with, he knows what they need and how to make them better because he takes the time to! The whole coaching staff and behind the scenes staff are incredible and it’s so so good!

4. The social media team is absolutely killing it. They’re providing fans with content that really showcase the team and the players and their personalities. We have a team pup! We have videos and pictures and sabres embedded that just are so well done. The social media team really took the opportunity of this year and the good wins the sabres have been having and just showing how great it is. I honestly don’t think I’d be as into the sabres (because this kind of content is integral to fandom spaces) if it weren’t for their work.

I am just so fucking proud of them. From the firing of Ralph Kruger and getting Donny as Head Coach to getting Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs to the development of Rasmus Dahlin, Tage Thompson, and Dustin Tokarski to just getting out veterans like Kyle and Jeff back to their career highs, this team has seemingly just done it all and done it all against the odds. The vibes are immaculate and I love them dearly.
