I wanted to try translating Hatoko wa tokidoki mahou shoujo but cant seem to find any raws. I dont have any scanner myself. Do you know where I could find some raws for it?

I’m afraid you might have to buy a copy for yourself or see if you can find an e-book version to download. The first five chapters have been released in tankoubon format, which should be easy to purchase and scan from places like cdjapan or amazon.jp. I’d scan my copies for you, but I only have a sporadic set of them because I don’t purchase Lala regularly anymore.

Best of luck to you! The story is a gem and it’d be great to get some buzz for it!

Sorry, I don’t translate for that fandom anymore. Even if I was going to, I would need a clear copy of the magazine to be able to translate. I’m sure scanlations will be out soon enough for you to enjoy! ^^

The one I just posted of Yuuki and Ai? It’s the new color art for the title page of VKM 19, which just released in LalaDX on the 10th in Japan (some stores get early copies, which is what that preview picture was; I myself don’t have a copy yet). 

There probably won’t be a clean version of the image until they do an artbook or a special furoku (magazine freebie), but for now if you wait just a few days some of the raw/scanlation providers will be posting scans of the color page in the vampire knight tag. In the meantime, you can order your own copy of LalaDX from cdjapan or amazon japan. Hope that helps! ^^;

VKM 18 LQ Raws

I haven’t done this in a while because I stepped down from VKM spoilers, but I noticed nothing has come out since the initial spoilers for VKM 18 yet. I’ve uploaded some very LQ speed raws of VKM 18 which can be viewed online or downloaded for anyone who is interested.

I will not be translating, but here are a few interesting bits from the chapter:

  • Kaien Cross has passed on and turns to ash like a vampire.
  • Ren is born, and she is Ai’s little sister. 
  • Zero is still alive and is raising Ren with Yuuki and Ai.
  • Kaname chooses not to look at the photo album and has not yet regained his memories.

The previews for the next chapter are:

  • Color Preview: Now that Yuuki and Zero’s child Ren has been born, what will Ai do now that she has a sibling? 
  • Black & White Preview: What will Ai do after losing precious people and meeting new precious people?
  • The previews include a new secondary series tagline, which is “the bittersweet past” popular series. It’s possible they’ll be using this more often in future chapters.

VKM 19 will feature at the front of the next LalaDX issue with a 2-page color spread.

Please do not use the raws for scanlating purposes, but you’re free to use them for edits or image manips as you please. Thanks! ^^

Earlier this month, Hakusensha’s website was pushing the advertising for the release of the first volume of Ishihara Keiko’s Itsuwari no Freja, a new series running in LalaDX I’m currently reading. A look at the stats piqued my curiosity about the sales of the two other series I follow (Tendouke Monogatari and Vampire Knight Memories). As a point of comparison, I also gathered what data i could find for Akagami no Shirayukihime’s sales from when it was running in LalaDX. What I discovered is perplexing to me, as I’m still not exactly sure what criteria Hakusensha uses to determine which stories from LalaDX get moved to Lala.

Thought I’d do a quick update on Vampire Knight Memories Vol. 3’s sales status now that the data for the first two weeks of sales is out. It’s possible VKM will rank in its third week, but there’s enough information now to take a look at it in comparison with previous volumes:

Honestly, it’s not good to see a decline in sales this significant from one volume to the next, but that may be due to the story’s slow and relatively confusing pacing, or perhaps it’s due to VKM having a tough time finding its footing and/or audience with Volumes 1-3. Hopefully the new arc will pick up the pace and interest will increase.

Still, the sales are leagues above what LalaDX manga are usually capable of performing. I don’t see VKM being cut from LalaDX anytime soon, but this may lower its chances to move to Lala.

Amazon.jp’s website updated, and it looks like Vampire Knight Memories will have special edition of volume 4 which will come with a drama CD! The release date will be on February 5th, 2019.

Amazon.jp’s advertisement says that this will be the first drama CD released for the series since the original Vampire Knight ended, and all the stories on it will be originals written by Hino-sensei. 

2019 can’t come soon enough! ^^;

@zaqizaba0: Manga Updates indicates there are scanlations up to chapter 9 which could be found online if you search. Usually, I’d recommend buying the official copies instead, but as this one hasn’t been picked up yet, I see no harm in using the scanlations until there’s a viable alternative. ^^; Hope that helps!
