'Til The End Of The Line

@steves-a-punk

[Marvel Blog:] Private James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, 107th Division, U.S. Army. Alias "The Winter Soldier." Resident jerk at Avengers Tower, NYC, U.S.A. Major Marvel fangirl who loves Sebby and Cevans A LOT. I write fanfic when asked (so far only for RL friends). Most go unfinished unless someone actually is waiting to read it. Send me requests if you want! I can do Avengers/Captain America and Agents of SHIELD characters best. If you like my blog, go follow @buckys-a-jerk (aka my BFF who's a punk) too because our blogs go together and she's amazing. Also can probably write a lot better than me.

A cliffhanger. That’s what you called it just to get me to smile. In that moment, despite all the odds against usknowing you had my back, Bucky, I had the strangest feeling. —Steve Rogers, Captain America: White

Headcannon: Tony is really Peter's father

Listen up guys. TONY HAS A SON. In Iron Man 3 (possibly 2?! It's a gray area...) a woman that Tony was previously shown hooking up with confronts him and says "You have a son!" Now, we don't really get any further explanation of that as an actual plot point, but think about it! The timeline works. If it WAS IM3 as I believe, this unnamed son would have been born in the year 2000 (post-New Year's Eve hookup). That makes the kid about 17 at the time of CA:CW. Sound familiar?! Tony is extremely paternal towards Pete in Civil War and the trailers for Homecoming. Sure, it could just be instinct towards a kid, but what if it was something deeper? If I'm correct, Peter's biological mom would have been young, single, and at the height of her career when she had him, so adoption would be a very likely choice. The Parkers would have adopted him at birth, and never got the chance to tell him he truth before their deaths. He was too young to really understand anyway. After Tony is [ahem, rudely] informed of the existence of his son, of course he's going to track him down. Knowing Tony, he's not going to barge into this kid's life and mess anything up for him, but you can bet he keeps tabs. Y'know. Occasional fly-bys, anyone trying to hold Peter back mysteriously giving up after about a week. When uncle Ben died he probably even attended the funeral. From a distance, at least. Once Peter becomes Spider-Man, Tony is a nervous wreck about it and finally tells Pepper. She's upset. It ends up causing a lot of tension between them ultimately leading to their [hopefully temporary!] split. Tony is devastated but knows he has to prioritize his son at least for the moment. When Civil War begins, Pete has really started getting a hold on this superhero gig, and Tony had noticed. (He may or may not have had something to do with ensuring he was extra prepared. XD) Things turn south, Tony is feeling betrayed by the Avengers, and decides to take a risk with family. Peter impresses him. He's really a good kid -- no thanks to him -- but he's alright. That's one of the only things that lift his spirits a bit in the midst of so much division. We have yet to see what EXACTLY is happening in Spidy's solo film, but we do know that Tony is very concerned about keeping Peter safe and is acting very fatherly in the trailers. I'm sure Tony won't say anything to him (again, he can't tear the kid's world apart like that), but maybe they'll give us a sign that he knows. A birth certificate, digital file, something. It would really show off a different side of Tony that most people have yet to know exists -- a nurturing one. And that will just make the entire film 1000 times sweeter. Anyway. Yep, that's my headcannon. It's long and confusing and I'm sorry for that but please let me know what you think! Could Spidy really be Tony's son?

them: omg yeah they could give eachother makeovers and tell ghost stories it'd be so--
me: one of them could have a horrible nightmare about the traumas they've faced and wake up screaming and everyone could come together to make them feel better
them: what
