Fundraiser for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in honor of Dean Winchester’s legacy and to counter the message the show sent out with his death. I’ve read people justify his ending as being the only way he’d find peace after all he’s been through, that he wouldn’t have been able to cope with a normal life and that he thought he’d die on a hunt so he did so that’s ok? No none of that take away is ok.
Dean was looking to move on from hunting, he was looking at jobs, he got a dog, he wanted to live with his new found freedom and free will but for shock value he was killed off in a mundane senseless way with the message that was his lot, the same message drilled into him by ALL his abusers and manipulators was what he got despite how much his character developed from the blunt little instrument John carved him into.
Dean Winchester deserved better. Those who see themselves in Dean and relate to him deserve better so lets make this fundraiser a massive success for all those rooting for Dean who were let down by the show and to thank Jensen Ackles who fought for Dean but was outnumbered in the end.
