                   I. Steve makes a huge fuss about Mary’s birthdays. Every year. But it’s not the date she was “born” it’s the day that he took her home and began raising her before telling Peggy about what had happened. He remembers the exact time she took his hand, and he always grabs her hand and pulls her close for a dance. 

                   II. Anytime Mary gets obstinate Steve blames Peggy, but he knows that his little girl is a lot like him and it scares the hell out of him. 

                   III. It was Peggy’s idea to have the Avengers as Mary’s godparents, but it was Steve that first wrote out his will, leaving her guardianship to Bucky if anything were to happen to him and Peggy.

                   IV. Mary’s first car is more safe to be in than the one that the President rides in, browbeating Tony and Bruce into working on it and slave driving them until they finally had to ask Bucky and Peggy to ask him to chill the fuck out.

                    I.Steve has a scar on his left hand under the pinky from the first time that he put Bucky in the chair, between the strength of Bucky’s bite, and the electricity that glanced through his hand, his body was never able to heal the skin.

                    II.He did not know about the assassinations that occurred while he was frozen in the ice until after he’d managed to quell the rebellious few that tried to unseat him when he came back to claim his position. When he did find out, he executed the men himself in a fit of rage and hardly remembers doing so.

                    III.Instead of using code words that are hard wired into Bucky’s brain, Steve will exhaust himself in a fight with the Winter Soldier when he goes rogue. Though he does have a habit of using them just to see what will happen at other times, an almost detached curiosity prompting their use. But when he’s going crazy Steve handles it himself.

                    IVDue to their Catholic upbringing, Steve will sometimes quote scripture they both learned in church and at his mother’s knee, an emotionally manipulative tactic since neither of them attend church or pray any more and it is mostly to remind Bucky of the past rather than twinge his Catholic guilt.

.                     I.Steve pokes fun, and teases Henry when he’s coming out of the water after dying, but inside he’s furious and ready to burn the city to the ground. 

                      II.Exercise time is bug the fuck out of Henry time, which Steve considers fair since one of the reasons he’s working out is so he doesn’t hurt the man trying to keep up with his libido. Not that he’ll ever explain that to Henry, because he doesn’t want him to feel bad, or try harder, it’s Steve’s issue not his, but that does mean Henry has to lay under him for kisses as he’s doing push ups, stand at the end of the treadmill and read to him as he jogs. 

                      III.Henry can’t cook for shit, not because he has no talent for it, but he’s scatterbrained, so between Steve, and Henry’s son Abraham, they always have something for him to eat at meal times and Steve does double duty taking care of the snacks since more often than not Henry has to run off on some coroner’s business.

                      IV.While obnoxiousness is par for the course, Steve is an even bigger pain in the ass around Henry because he loves watching him get all “British”. The level looks, and acerbic witty reprimands amuse him to no end

.                     I.Steve is not nearly as scared of Wanda’s powers as he should be. It’s not that he doesn’t have a healthy appreciation of what they could do, it’s that he’s gotten to the point he can relate with her and that makes him more trusting than he should be all things considered.

                      II. Wanda threw him into the wall on purpose while practicing the lift and toss, mostly because Steve is the boyfriend who’s super attentive and such, but when it comes to training he gives no slack at all just because you’re sleeping with him. He expects the same level of excellence from her as he does the soldiers that follow him.

                      III. Every once in a while, Steve almost wants to ask her to dig through his memories and yank out anything that has to do with his father, most of his childhood where he’d almost given up because of how sick he was. 

                      IV. Sometimes Steve can’t be around Wanda because while he doesn’t have doubts consciously, he’s worried that something in his subconscious is still struggling to come to terms with what he needs to do and he doesn’t want her to see it and make him face it.

                     I.Steve developed a hard core crush on her the day that she knocked Hodges on his ass, knowing that she didn’t like bullies either, that she would toe the line or blatantly cross it was the beginnings of his falling in love with her. 

                     II.When he was running with the Howling Commandos, he always asked for her input first, Steve isn’t all that great on sneaking in, he’s a kick the door, start whaling on someone kind of person. So he asked her opinion on how to get there stealthily, and then kicked the door down.

                     III.After getting Peggy settled post that really awkward as hel reunion, Steve tried again to get drunk, and failed. When it did he almost tore the whole section where her body had been stored in cryo apart bare handed, trying to deal with his confusion, hope, and anger that she’d been subjected to that.

                     IV.He watches her sleep, not because he’s worried about her health, but because he’s still not entirely assured that she’s there, that she’s not a figment of his imaginations, or maybe he’s dreaming at the time and when he closes his eyes he’ll wake up without her. Doesn’t touch her or anything because he doesn’t want to discuss it, but he just watches her breathe and tries to find peace with it.

    he was sick of going around in circles so he had just stopped listening. which was probably better for TONY considering how badly STEVE had wanted to knock his damn teeth in. HOWARD would have thrown his hands up in disgust by now, stalked off for a drink. this had to be his mother's influence…
