Why Nighteye is the worst.

Alright so first I want to start off with saying that this is no means is meant to annoy or offend anyone this is just my opinion. Ok so here we go.
So I wanted to start off with him on his deathbed but I think we can start off with Mirio. Nighteye loved Mirio as we can see however I strongly believe that he only loved Mirio after working for him with a while, let me explain. We see that on his deathbed Nighteye apologizes to Mirio because he started off only wanting him because he wanted him to succeed All Might. We also learned before this that Mirio only got a handle on his quirk after he joined Nighteye and was an his internship for a while meaning that Nighteye didn't accept or take in Mirio because of his quirk or the potential he saw but because he looked like All Might and he wanted him to be the next All Might which is super selfish. He later learns to love and appreciate him but that doesn't really excuse what his intentions were with Mirio to start off with.
Now on the subject of Izuku. Nighteye was down right rude, and nasty to Izuku all the time just because he was the chosen successor for one for all instead of Mirio. Izuku tried so hard to be liked by Nighteye, he worked hard he did his best and he wanted to be a better hero. It's not his fault that All Might choose someone other than who he wanted to succeed him like that's just plain rude. Not to mention the only reason he even accepted Izuku was just to supposedly show him what a worthy inheritor of one for all would look like.
No let's go on to his deathbed. On his deathbed he's talking to All Might about the situation and what happened when Izuku shows up and tells him he as to fight to live. Not only does Nighteye not acknowledge him he keeps talking like he didn't even hear Izuku in the first place. Now you might think oh but if he had lived longer maybe he would have said something to Izuku or like said I'm sorry for being so rude to you, cause even when he was rude to Izuku, Izuku still had such respect and love for him but anyways. No he would not have because between the time when Izuku comes in and Mirio comes in there's a little over a minute and a half almost 2 minutes of Nighteye talking and not even acknowledging Izuku. Not to mention that he insults Izuku and says that they only reason that they won and changed the future was because everyone believe enough to change it. Doesn't it acknowledge Izuku busting his ass to fight Overhaul and what was probably Izukus determination that actually changed the fight. So yes he had enough time to apologize and talk to him but he doesn't ever in that time. He was basically gas lighting Izuku and making him think he wasn't enough and that he needed to work harder.
If Nighteye had been a better character he would have respected All Might's choice for the next wielder of one for all and then helped them in any way he could instead of making them feel like they weren't enough and that he should give it to someone else. And it actually worked because Izuku was literally ready to give up his dream and give Mirio One for All. Which is incredible because this is Izuku's dream. Thank goodness Mirio saw his potential or else who know what would have happened. All of this is why I think that Nighteye is terrible.
