I explained the concept of "blorbo from my shows" to my 71 year old immigrant grandfather because I referenced it in passing and I thought nothing of it, until today when he said "I think I'll watch peaky blinders tonight and see my blorbo from my shows" referring, of course, to Cillian Murphy playing Tommy Shelby

English isn't his first language so he's not super in touch with modern slang, so I've been accidentally teaching him to talk like a tumblr user. His favorite thing to say lately is "me when I'm a little hater" when he's like talking shit about the neighbor's son

How did Dogma, a relatively low-budget film, manage to have the only good-looking angel wings? Like, even movies with tons of FX dollars tend to fuck them up and they look bad. These are very stylized, and you can tell they’re not real feathers, but they actually look… better than real feathers? They have a balance of curvature and sharp angles that just make for a great silhouette and they move wonderfully. I cannot figure this out!!

I don’t know this show but that’s a fucking practical effect??! Better than most cg. Holy shit.

Please go look up the Crooked Feather. They make practical wings! They are so cool. Someday…. Someday I will have a pair 😂

This is great. You can see how much effort it takes Baffleck with his core muscles to keep his posture upright when they wings are moving. Which I love, because having enormous, working wings would put a huge strain on a humanoid body. It’s good when things don’t seem effortless.

a bad terrible foolish logics.

Wow this post is almost 6 years old?!

Not only does it continue to not be possible to do such a sneaking, but it’s getting less and less possible the older I get. High School me could pull the occasional all-nighter and be at least partly functional for most of the next day, but 30 year old me absolutely cannot.

Leverage Superpower AU by ME (and Fern)

Nate: Psychometry. He can psychically read information about objects’ history just by touching them. People assume this helped him in insurance investigation but he actually still had to do all the legwork of research and interviews to FIND the object and reading it really only confirmed his theories. VERY useful in determining if an object is a forgery though. He CANNOT read people but he will often lie and say he can.

Sophie: Probability Manipulation. She can give other people minor bad luck, e.g. tripping on their shoelaces, weird stain on their shirt. She mostly uses this as a psychological manipulation tactic to put people on the emotional low ground when she meets them. Much like her acting, if she tries to use it when not on a con, it backfires on her.

Eliot: Enhanced Senses. This helps with things like tracking and accuracy but doesn’t necessarily add to his fighting ability, and actually makes the hits feel much worse than they are. This also means that when he says something is very distinctive he REALLY means it. Also his super refined palate is because his enhanced sense of taste means he truly can’t stomach bad food.

Parker: Size Manipulation. She can grow or shrink but only by about 4 inches because she doesn’t really like to use it or practice. By the end of the show she’s gained mastery over her powers but instead of being able to change by a larger amount she can localize the effects, e.g. make her arm really long, shrink her head. She uses this almost exclusively for absurdist bits.

Hardison: Mental Computation. Google Sage X-Men and look at her powers. Essentially his brain acts like a computer, giving him a photographic memory, the ability to multitask, and he can perform any task after getting a single lesson in it. It’s VERY him. Note that this is NOT technopathy so he can’t speak to computers, his brain just functions in a similar way. Age of the geek baby.

Breanna: Self Duplication. She can create 2-4 copies of herself that she refers to as “her bots”. They act as an her engineering team, her social media team, and prank team. The more copies she makes, the more spread out her attention is and the less complex tasks she can do. She also lies at the beginning and tries to convince Harry that she has mind control powers

Harry: Power Immunity. Other people’s powers, like telepathy or Sophie’s bad luck, do not affect him. It is a power that would allow him to live a totally normal life if he did not surround himself with the super powered and made him a very good evil lawyer. Despite this, when people try to make him do things with their powers he often just. Does it anyway. Hence why Breanna pranks him by pretending to have mind control powers.
