That post about an artist saying they couldn't support their partner wholeheartedly if their art was "ugly" is so evil and stupid and you know they've never loved anyone because when you truly love someone everything they create becomes beautiful just by being a tiny window into the way they think and experience the world if someone I truly loved showed me an ordinary stickman I would be honored that they wanted to show me something they drew

Dramatic self-deprecation in place of an apology is manipulative and toxic. Apologizing and holding yourself accountable is healthy behavior that results in growth.
