As a ferret owner I can confirm that my three ferrets do not give a single fuck about being held like that. A ferret WILL let you know if it doesn’t like how you’re holding it. But they like being turned into potato sacks for some reason.

Yeah ferrets get super limp sometimes when you hold them, plus they have a flexible spine and ribs, it doesn’t bother them a bit. They are just loose sacks of meat and kleptomania.

Stan Lee has zero power over casting decisions or the writing of any movie or spinoff property, nor did he write any of them.

He hasn’t written Spidey anywhere outside of the newspaper comic strip for decades now

He never had any way to “make sure” Peter was portrayed a specific way in any medium since roughly 1980 at the latest

He’s a legacy creator who made important, landmark characters in the ‘60s and ‘70s and has since then mostly been used by Marvel as a PR device to generate good vibes.

And the man who gave us the first major representation of black superheroes when he created Black Panther just died, can we show a little class please

I know what you’re trying to get at here but he did actually say he’d make sure that Peter Parker was protrayed straight, and he had a big issue with Peter Parker being played by anyone who wasn’t . It was also included in the later contracts for the character that Peter Parker had to be protrayed as white and straight.

He said that for Peter Parker, but not other incarnations of spider-man. Think about it from his point of view as a storyteller, a worldbuilder, a character creator. Peter Parker was the first incarnation of spider-man, in a way he's Stan's baby. I wouldn't change the identity of my own characters if it wasnt a necessity either. But that's just me of course. I understand that other individuals who have a greater desire for people like themselves to be portrayed in media are upset by his words. But I'm sure that wasn't his intention.
