<)- Legolas’ Precision -(>

~A spell to help you aid in ‘hitting your target’ or reaching a specific goal~

You will need:

-Something that symbolizes your target or goal. (an application for a job, an amount of money you wish to save, a picture of a place you wish to go on vacation) whatever it is that represents your goal.

-a green candle

-whatever incense you feel is right for this action

-a thumb tack or pin

What to do:

1. Prepare yourself and your space however necessary. Meditate, pray, shower or what have you.

2.Sit in the space with your candle and incense, light both, and focus your mind on the goal or target you wish to reach.

3. Pick up the pin or needle, and focus your energy and intent into it, pour your desire to reach this goal into the pin. If it helps, visualize the pin as an arrow, and you focusing your energy into it is you drawing back the bowstring.

4. Just like shooting an arrow, exhale as you place the pin into the symbolic item that represents your target. Just once, and if it is something like an application, don’t ruin the application, pin it in the corner.  This is you firing the arrow.

5. Now, the magic is only half the work. Keep the symbolic item if you can, placing it somewhere you see it every day to inspire you to continue working for it. Hang it on the fridge, keep it in your car or wallet, or on your desk. If it helps, keep the pin in it and pin it somewhere you will see it.

*This is an adaptation of one of my personal spells.*

(Also, let’s hear it for Orlando Bloom and his wonderfully candid faces during LOTR and The Hobbit movies!)

Happy Casting!

~A Glamour/ Enchantment to conceal yourself from those who would wish you ill will~

What you will need

  • a hoodie, jacket, or sweatshirt (I used my favorite hoodie)
  • A white candle
  • your favorite incense

What to do

  1. Wash your piece of clothing, to rid it of any lingering old energies, then cleanse it as well, if you feel it necessary.
  2. Prepare yourself however necessary. Shower, meditate, ground, center etc.
  3. I personally waited for a storm to build up the energy I used for this enchantment. Raise the energy however you wish, through calling the elements, crystals, your own energy.
  4. Once the energy is at your disposal, light the candle and incense and set the piece of clothing out in your workspace, either folded or unfolded, it’s up to you.
  5. Channel the energy you’ve risen into the item. Visualize the energy flowing from your hands as you wave them over the clothing, flowing into and building within the clothing.
  6. As you are filling it with your energy say “Like the lone rider through the storm, let me be kept safe from eyes that seek harm. Let me pass through shadows unseen, and pass by others with the greatest of ease.”
  7. Hold the clothing up in the smoke of the incense, allowing the smoke to curl around it as the incense burns down. It is done.
  8. Clean up, and wear the enchanted clothing whenever you need to stay out of sight or wish to go unnoticed by those who mean you harm.
This enchantment can be re done as often as necessary. I also ended up stitching an “I am hidden” sigil inside my sweatshirt (which I actually no longer own, thinking back on the first time I did this one.) This can also be complimented by carry gemstones for safety and protection in your pockets.

Happy Casting, and stay safe witches!

~A spell to bring your strength and power to the surface~

What You’ll Need:

  • a pen
  • a couple pieces of paper
  • several items that you feel connected to that give you a sense of being and strength
  • a candle and incense (color and scent similarly things that you connect to yourself)

-This spell has more to do with you than with the items involved, as this is truly about your personal power, and so can even be done without all of them.-

What you need to do:

1. Do whatever is necessary for you to do spell and energy work (i.e. cast a circle, cleanse, meditate etc.)

2. Arrange the candle, incense and items however best fits your work space be it on an altar, table, desk, floor or wherever you are working.

3. On one of the pieces of paper, write out what you feel your biggest strengths are, and what things might hinder each of those from being brought to the surface

4. Light the candle and incense, focusing on those traits you wish to bring out or amplify

5. Now on the second piece of paper, write out those same attributes, only this time, preface them with the opposite in this format “I am no {negative}, I am {positive}”

6. Say it out loud as you write it, emphasize that you ARE NOT the negative aspect and that you ARE the positive

7. Blow out or allow the candle to burn itself out. Same with the incense. Focus on the positive reinforcement of the attributes you are seeking to bolster within yourself. Do whatever you can to strengthen those pillars of your being.

Whenever, if ever, you start to doubt yourself, reiterate the positive affirmations, leaving out the negatives (since you’re trying to improve)

*This is a spell from my personal grimoire*

Happy Casting Witches!

Can you explain what a pop culture witch is?

To me, a pop culture witch is a witch who uses elements of fiction or other pop culture in their real practice. Mostly for myself it means I use a lot of spells inspired by things that happen in fiction or that use song lyrics instead of making up words. Some pop culture witches are also pop culture pagans, but not all and it certainly isn't necessary to be both.My blog here is full of different pop culture spells that'll give you good examples of what I mean. Hope this helped!

I’ve been a little absent for a good while now because I’ve had a whole lot of shit going on in my life and I’ve pretty much been neglecting my path. Hopefully thats everything clearing itself up now and I’m trying to get back on track. I had notifications about asks but when I click on them tumblr seems to have eaten them. So if anyone had sent me any I’m sorry, but tumblr has fucked up. Please do feel free to send them again!

Hey :) I'm very new to pop culture witchcraft and I don't really know where to start so: 1. How can I involve Gravity Falls into my practice ? 2. Do you know any blogs that post about pop culture witchcraft involving Gravity Falls ?

Avatar

Hi there. I'm not familiar myself with Gravity Falls so unfortunately my advice will just be general instead of specific.I'd say start with finding the character you're most drawn to. What is it about them you enjoy? What do they inspire you to do?If you want to work with them as an entity, what do they represent? What type of character are they? What do they enjoy? What things do you feel symbolise them? You can put together an alter with those sorts of things. When it comes to spellcraft, you can look at all different aspects of it. Quotes that inspire you, themes of it, things that are done in it, music if there's any, etc.I hope this helps.

Hi! So, I'm new to PCP and I really, really want to work with Sam Winchester. But, I'm having a rotten time finding anything on him! I'm thinking of just setting up my own altar to him and giving it a go, but I don't know if I should take any precautions- or which ones I would need to take. TL;DR, do you have any resources, ideas, or suggestions of what to offer Sam as a spirit and to start a rapport with him? Thanks so much!

So sorry about the lateness of this reply. My blog has been sort of abandoned for a while due to annoying life things.I don’t have anything specifically on Sam, but I did find that the fyeahpopculturewitchcraft tag on Supernatural has loads of great info on it, including a profile of Dean which could help steer you onto how to make one for Sam if its still something you’re looking for :)

So this may be a really stupid question but what happens if an entity you want to work with is "dead" in the actual story? Especially if it's a story like lotr (boromir for example) who isn't coming back, just curious how that would work :P thanks for reading this!

Avatar

I suppose it depends on how you prefer to look at it yourself. You could call on them from a specific point in their storyline in which they’re still alive, or you could consider them to be a spirit thats no longer alive. Its entirely up to you and what feels right to you.

hi! i got a wand a while ago at the wizarding world of harry potter before i became a witch, and I've been wanting to use it as a real wand, do you think that's okay/it'll work?

Absolutely! The magic comes from you, and you can use whatever you like to channel it :)

So, I've been reading about pc witchcraft recently and I'm curious— as a writer, I've always given my words power, and as someone whose living situation isn't ideal, I was wondering if it's possible to simply use phrases/quotes/songs as spells with only the power of intent. I've always sort of done it in a pinch, visualizing the outcome I want based on my music or movie memory. Could this be a viable form of magic?

Definitely! Magic at its base doesn't require any ingredients to work. If it works for you, then its a valid form of magic.

Some words of advice for Pop Culture Witchlings.

First up, “Witchling” isn’t meant to be an insult–think of it more as “padawan.” So here are some things you should know before starting on your Path.

1) No one likes pop culture magicians/pagans.  Not even other pagans/witches.  We have been told that what we are doing is “not real magic,” that we’re “mocking the old gods and the old religions,” that “our magic won’t work,” all kinds of elitist bullshit.  I will tell you this: I have been a witch for about ten years, and a pop culture witch for about…two or three.  The most effective spells I have done have all been with the aid of my pop culture entities, so NEVER let anyone tell you what is or isn’t powerful.  That magic comes from within you, and whatever stirs your soul is the key to it. 2) Spirit guides/Patrons/guardians/deities: My advice, and again, this is advice, is to start with an entity from your favorite fandom(s). Remember what I said about personal power?  The more connected you are to an entity, the more power it can help you find.  On that note, once you’re comfortable with how magic feels, then start exploring other fandoms. 3) So how do you get a Guide/Patron/guardian?  You don’t.  Not exactly.  We all have “characters” who resonate with us for whatever reason.  Those are the most likely places to start.  And don’t assume that it’s going to be a magical moment of revelation, like an angel coming down from on high or somesuch.  I met my Guides through roleplaying them online, and only later realized that they were far more that just “muses.”

4) Once you have found you Partner, and by partner I mean guide/patron/guardian, they’re with you no matter what.  No need for any spells or anything to keep them with you.  You chose them, they chose you.  Why would they leave you unless you pissed them off or told them to leave?  Many pop culture pagans or pop culture witches have a special item such as necklace or keychain they carry with them.  This keeps their energy nearby and can be used to help in spells as needed.  It’s not a Binding vessel, because binding is not needed. 5) Be open.  There are SO MANY pop culture entities who are looking for humans to work with.  Generally speaking, if you ask them to help, they’ll be more than happy to help, and one or more might stay with you if you’re compatible.  On that note, be VERY careful when working with “villains,” especially starting out.  And remember that not all of the entities will be exactly like their “canon” selves.  6) To worship or not to worship?  That’s a matter of personal choice.  I don’t worship my entities.  They would never put up with that.  They lend me their passion and energy when I ask/invoke/evoke, but I don’t make offerings as mainstream religion knows the term.  I don’t “pray” to them.  I ask them respectfully, just like I would as my friends or family for a favor.  But again, that’s a matter of person taste and you own individual relationship with them.  Those are my thoughts on the matter for today.  Feel free to PM me with any questions.  I love teaching.

Empower yourself with Pokemon Go

Inspired by THIS post, I thought - why not use all the features of Pokemon go in tech magic?

If you’re going to be trying to take over gyms, or at least fill your Pokedex, you’re going to want your pokemon get stronger and better and evolving all the time. Use that to your advantage! Take a pokemon and name it as something you want to improve, something you need more of. Then Power the pokemon up, or evolve it. Make it stronger, and your intended feature along with it!

You might need to be creative with the naming, yes, because of the character limit, but imagine the possibilities with just one-word names! For an extra boost, you might want to match the type of the pokemon to your desires - like Pikachu for Energy, or Hypno for Good Dreams, or Jigglypuff for Song Voice!

Of course, don’t forget about adding some intent and energy into it!

Okay, but I am so here for Pokémon Go magic. This is my jam.

I don’t play it (battery life sucks enough as it is!) but this is amazing.
