chaewon nodded slightly at his words and a soft sigh slipped past her lips. there was nothing more that she could say to that. at least nothing that made her feel better and him not feel any worse. as the male’s gaze landed upon her once again she felt her heart slightly flutter, forgetting that she did not mean to ‘give in’ this time. “actually i’m really craving chicken.” her lips were puckered slightly to something that looked like a small pout. “i’ve not had chicken for a while and it’s like calling for me. chicken and beer.” chaewon did not hesitate a second to wrap her pinky finger around his. sometimes in moments like this she wondered why he was even bothering with her easily sulking ass. despite having his problems and not being the most punctual or accurate person he seemed to be much more of a human than she was. forgiving was hard for her and she liked to dwell on things a lot. she overthought every little action when it came to interactions between her and another human being. internally chaewon shook her head to get rid of the thoughts. “you’re saying that as if i look any different than usually.” she nudged him slightly yet never letting go of his pinky. while chaewon was usually not the time to need reassurance, she held in for a second before starting to walk of in the direction that she knew would be at least some kind of restaurants. they could still decide when they were in front of the restaurants. “you’re fine with getting chicken right? do you rather want to eat in the restaurant or at home?” at least this time she did not want to put herself first.

hyunjoon bit his lip as he followed her half a step behind, not letting their linked pinkies fall, yet not making her struggle to keep them that way. the position could get uncomfortable, yet he knew better than to hold her hand out right, maybe on their way back, when he had earned it. still, his lips couldn’t help but to form a small smile, her wrath was soon to come back at any given moment, so he’d try to talk to chaewon through it, explain himself better between bites of chicken. “honestly, i’d rather we go home, so i can spoon you for all that’s worth it.” the man admitted, swinging their linked lips just slightly. “but again, i’m at your commands, if you want to stay at the restaurant that’s fine by me.” shrugging he looked at her once more. “i just realise i don’t say how beautiful you are enough. i know you know, but repressing my words only make them burn at the back of my throat and i hate it.” again, his lips didn’t seem to show mercy as they kept spilling the truth. “i promised you honesty did i not?” turning to look at her, hyunjoon let his smile spread a little, removing his pinky from her grasp to wrap his arm around her shoulder, pressing her against his side. he didn’t deserve this, and his body knew, letting her loose in case she wanted to break apart after a second, arm lowering to her middle. “are we drinking tonight or are we staying with regular scheduled coke?” the man asked trying to lighten the atmosphere.

—– ✤✤ “yes. pizza and pudding will do the trick.” instead of feeling too awkward, clyde tried to joke around a little bit as well. and he thought he was getting used to the feeling of being around someone little by little. “i know it’s new. i didn’t have the chance to go see it so i thought—- why not try on netflix?” honestly, he would usually download those movies illegally so he should have thought before suggesting a very new movie. but his luck turned out just fine when the movie popped up on the screen which made him smile widely. “yeah, sure.” clyde got up from his seat to turn the tv on only to return quickly. “zac efron? really? i didn’t deem you as a zac efron guy. i guess you’re full of surprises.” he said as he took another bite from his pizza. “i agree on the zendaya part though.”

pudding. well that was interesting, but eunsoo shrugged smiling at his slice of pizza as the credits begun to roll and the screen showed the multiple producing agencies that worked to make that movie a reality. eunsoo grabbed a blanket and offered it to the other male, just in case. “listen, i have a thing for pinning buff man and kissing the shit out of them.” he confessed, not really finding in himself to filter his words. the air had calmed a little ever since the entire kitchen mishap. “and zendaya can strangle me and i’d say thank you.” to celebrate that statement he took a long sip of his water. eunsoo indeed was feeling way comfortable, and he hoped he could speak for the other, looking sideways eunsoo gave another smile at the sight. “okay if you need anything tell me.” he said as the first line of dialog begun to play.

—– ✤✤ a laugh passed the warlock’s lips upon his words. eunsoo was actually fun to be with and clyde was glad that he didn’t put up his usual distant douchebag facade up when they first met which led them to get a little bit closer. surely not so close yet thanks to clyde’s awkwardness but he was working through it. and he was very grateful that eunsoo was giving him the space and time for him to develop his emotions better. “thank you, again.” he said, turning his head to the side with a smile. clyde leaned over a little bit to reach the plate and the slice of pizza. “thank you. you didn’t need to give me the bigger slice. but i’m not gonna complain.” he said as he quickly took a bite. “i think it was the greatest showman. but you can choose whatever else you want. i don’t really know many movies. — told you i’m boring. you should have hung out with someone more fun.”

chewing on his slice of pizza, eunsoo closed his eyes happily at the other’s words, smiling as he swallowed in a expression of pure joy. “ah, so i can win you over with pizza? good to know.” he teased winking at him before digging into his food again, not giving the joke much more attention and his eyes shot wide. since the movie was fairly new he didn’t know if he’d find it in netflix, but he tired all for the sake of this friendship, he thought as he logged into his account and typed the name of the movie. “it’s quite new though...” he mumbled as he scrolled down. “i mean i want to see it too, zac efron and zendaya are the reason of my bisexuality.” and finally the familiar image of the poster he saw every time he got off the subway popped into view. “there we go!” he smiled at the other again, finishing his slice. “okay can you turn on the tv for me, please?” he asked as he changed screens, climbing onto the sofa with a new slice of pizza in his hand.

while part of her was upset that she could not be upset with the male the more mature part of her knew that it was of no use to let this situation escalate. chaewon’s arms wrapped around the male as he pulled her in a hug. only slowly she lt her hands run over the male’s back in a at least intended calming motion. she was quiet while she waited for the male to pick up his voice again. in the moment of silence, despite it not being very long, chaewon took to chance to calm herself down a bit. even wondering if she was overreacting about the situation or if she had every right to be upset. she was just not good with situations like that. the female was quiet while she listened to the male’s words and nodded slightly here and there to show that she was indeed listening. “why did you not even care to send a message?” there was no hint of accusation in her voice, mere curiosity. chaewon hummed in thought about the male’s proposal and she shrugged her shoulders slightly. “i think we don’t need to go out to a restaurant. some take out and home sounds more comfortable to me. but really, if you insist being under oder human beings that are maybe just a tiny bit too loud, i’m fine with that too.” chaewon had a small smile spread over her lips and while deep inside she knew that she should apologize for lashing out at him, no words similar to an apology left her lips.

“i know, i don’t have an excuse. i was so distraught i didn’t even remember my phone, i just wanted to see you really.” he confessed looking down at their feet, hands in his pockets, hyunjoon let himself chuckle softly at her words looking up. “how about i treat you to whatever you want. how about an all you can eat bbq? italian? mexican?” he offered head tilting at her smile, god she was so adorable. however, the boy knew better than just to go out of his way and pinch her cheeks. so he stood with his hands in his pockets, one daring out to loop around her pinky, the other only coming out to brush his bangs away. he just stared at her, under the lights of the city slowly going to sleep, the moon peeking her nose through the clouds and shy stars blinking far up and above them. she always looked spectacular, a glimpse of something so unique and energetic yet so familiar, it made hyunjoon take a step closer, mumble a “you look wonderful, this evening” and then to her side, pinkies linked, smile plastered on his face like a fool. “so, lead the way princess.”

A WRY grimace on his lips when he hears the quiet utterance of awe when his family car rolls up to the curb, sometimes he hates how FLASHY his life was…it attracted too much attention and he didn’t want any of that. he sees the nervous gesture, or perhaps he was just looking TOO much into it – he can’t help it…that’s just the way he was – so he averts his gaze to the passing scenery as the car starts moving forward. he hears the driver’s gentle query of their destination, “my penthouse,” he mutters, leaning back in his seat ( there was only two places that he ever frequented, maybe a third if he was being SELF DESTRUCTIVE – his home, the company ~~and the hospital~~ ). “no worries,” he waves dismissively, “you’d do the same for me if i was on your side of town,” he offers a smile, whether that was true or not, he wasn’t sure but he said it anyways. delun didn’t like how the awkward atmosphere was settling between them but he had no idea how to alleviate it…he just hopes it dissipates soon.

the windows were tinted, so he couldn’t really see the city at night at its best, but still he let his eyes chase after the street lights, hands toying with his phone as his leg bounced. with a sigh he rested his head backwards and fluttered his eyes closed, suddenly feeling exhausted, body weighting three times more. a little breath leaves through his nose as he smiles, lips tight shut at his words. his arms cross on his belly and his mind starts to run wild. zhenjing doesn’t know how far it is to the other’s house, sorry penthouse, but he lets himself doze off for a little bit, just five minutes. the dream is all blurry, a daze of colors and familiar faces and a conversation he can’t quite make out. he still knows he is on a car but his consciousness has decided to shut down for a while. his head keeps lulling from side to side with the car’s motion, finding something just the perfect width and height for it to rest as zhenjing’s dream gets weirder. eyebrows furrowing, jaw clenching and chinese words slurred. he doesn’t know he is actually holding onto something for dear life until the car stops abruptly. blinking a few times, he unwraps his fingers from where they were tight on a piece of fabric and pretends nothing happened.

—– ✤✤ “i guess it will be better if i go alone. or else he might think i’m up to something.” clyde said with a soft chuckle. he appreciated the sentiment though. hardly anyone offered him help with something (because he was always so distant to others). clyde quickly held the plate as he was told to do and carefully carried it until eunsoo told him that he was fine to leave it alone. “you’re welcome.” he said as he stepped away to give him space. “i guess. i haven’t had many friends so i wouldn’t know.” he answered honestly, not feeling the need to hide that part of himself. he smiled at his words before walking back to the couch and taking a seat with a deep breath.

eunsoo cut the pizza as well as he could, keeping the slices in clyde’s side just a tad bigger like he promised. grabbing his drink with the other hand, the taller boy made his way to the livingroom, dropping both the pizza and water bottle on a small table he had cleared out from papers and old tv controls just that morning. “hey, don’t sweat it. you know i’m just a text away.” he said before going back to the kitchen to get a roll of kitchen paper just in case. “well a text, and a bit of traffic or however time the train takes to get there.” he blabbered, sitting next to the other but keeping his distance, not wanting clyde to feel overwhelmed. “but you got me.” and with some finger guns he changed the subject back to the pizza. “this.” eunsoo said turning the plate around a bit so clyde side was facing said boy. “is your side. bigger slices because you are my guest and my friend.” he pointed before turning the tv on “so which movie did we agree on again?”

CHUCKLING SOFTLY at zhenjing’s comment of his pet, “my cat would be so heartbroken to hear you love the dogs more,” delun jokes but he knew that VIMY ( the darn asocial feline ) tended to be human avoiding while his dogs, SUNNY and MERRY, were just excitable around new friends and people in general. “my driver should be here soon,” he nods towards the entrance, waiting for zhenjing to gather his things before moving towards the exit. holding it open for his friend so he could exit first. letting out a breath, watching it form soft smoke before dissipating – he wished winter would end soon…the gloomy sky during the day affected his mood often. turning his face up to the soft moonlight, his eyes scans the darkened canvas to see if he could spot any twinkling stars before his attention returns to zhenjing then to the car that was slowly rolling up to the curb. recognizing it as his family’s vehicle, before he could even reach out to pull open the door, the driver had already gotten out and taken the car handle into their own hand to hold open the car door for the two males. “thank you,” he hums, sliding into the backseat before moving to the far side to make room for his friend.

as the clod welcomed them once out of the bar, zhenjing chuckled along with the other at the mention of his cat, which he saw once. well he saw its tail when it ran out to hide from him. he pretended to be offended to no avail since the feline wouldn’t really feel empathy for his broken heart. speaking of hearts, he lets his own rest after that little bump there. wheighing out the results, a life long friendship always outweighed a stupid crush. which that’s what delun was. yet, it still hurt, it wouldn’t stop hurting overnight, even less if he was spending it on his penthouse while being all domestic and shit. zhenjing sighed, letting the smoke of his breath disappear into nothing right before his eyes. that would have almost been a great metaphor if it hadn’t been for the car stopping before them. letting out a small “wow” zhenjing thought it would be a good time to remember just how ridiculously rich delun was. very, very ridiculously rich. zhenjing would never be at his level. and maybe fore the best. bowing grateful at the man holding the door open, zhenjing followed the other inside the car. phone in his hands at the sudden awkwardness shaking him up. if i don’t look it’s not happening. “thanks again for...the ride...and letting me stay over. i owe you one.”

“well because a short ‘sorry’ is a real apology! i totally forgot that, majesty!” the female exclaimed. she hated being that upset but what she hated more was being left standing alone in front of the cinema like an absolute moron. chaewon took a breath ready to reply to whatever the male would say but she stopped as she let the words sink in. the female was quiet, waiting for what other words would come. to say the least she was shocked. not in a certainly bad way, but she would have never expected the honesty she was seeing. she was still upset that was as much as she knew but she didn’t have the heart to pursue it any further. the honesty being the cause of this. she blinked a few times before she nodded slightly. “what do you feel like doing? do you need something to eat more than cuddles or cuddles more than something to eat?” they definitely would need to talk about that. just maybe not now.

maybe the atmosphere had soften for now, so hyunjoon took a step towards her, the one that was keeping them apart, and as an answer he hugged her. “for now this will do.” he whispered, his head coming down to rest on her shoulder. hyunjoon was sick and tired of having to wear a mask, having to build walls so no one could come in. thinking that it would be easy to stay all his life always guarded was a foolish teenage mistake. so taking it one step at a time to destroy those walls to those people who deserved it seemed the right path. but withdrawals were always harsh. “i’m sorry i lashed out on you when you are absolutely right. this was our night and i ruined it.” he apologized still not letting her go. “i’m going to make it up to you, so it’s your choice. should we go to a restaurant? or should i drive us home?” he proposed, lips kissing her cheek as he leaned away with a ghost of a smile.
