"Isn't it weird that [thing humans commonly eat] is poisonous to literally every domesticated animal" I mean, there's a pretty good chance that [thing humans commonly eat] is at least mildly poisonous to humans, too. One of our quirks as a species is that we think our food is bland if it doesn't have enough poison in it.

Humans have a really weird mix of mundane superpowers.

We're not fast and don't have a lot of natural weaponry but we're bizarrely tolerant to a broad range of toxins to the point that one toxin is considered a morning necessity for some to perform at work. Gotta love us.

Hot fandom discourse take but framing dark content as only being acceptable if its a vehicle for exploring personal trauma is just giving ground to the puritan segments of fandom.

Simply liking dark content for its own sake is perfectly fine.

It also opens the door for random strangers to interrogate people about their trauma to determine if they're "allowed" to write dark content, only to then most likely turn around and use that sensitive information against them anyways.

nobody gets it. im still reeling from the fact that the very first person anya's ever told about her telepathic abilities is.. damian. like, it's actually damian. oh my god.

this isn't some fanfic and it's actually real. the first person anya's trusted enough with her biggest secret is damian desmond.

not her adoptive parents, not even bond, but damian.

the boy she's initially resolved to becoming friends with as a last resort, the son of her father's primary target, a mere stepping stone, and anya entrusted him with the biggest secret of her entire life. no i'm not crying u are

unrelated but this is damian's first major W, and he denies it. oh my god i forget they're just 6 year olds

i can't wait to see panels of damian returning to his dorm in silence while replaying every interaction he's had with anya and connecting the dots. i can't wait to see his face when he realizes anya wasn't kidding. or maybe anya's gonna hand it to him on a silver platter. who knows. but i miss them already

About Twiyor, Damianya and Chapter 96

Let me start by saying that, I like both stories and that both ships are great precisely because they're so different:

Twiyor is a relationships between two adults. Is it developing slowly? Yes, of course. The slow-pacing of the relationship is what makes it so real. Here's why:

Entering a relationship as an adult, and I mean any kind of relationship (romantic, friendship, or even work relationship) can be tricky. Why? Well, adults have more experience, they've seen and gone through more things, the carry psychological issues, and, in some cases (like Twilight's) trauma. All this makes it difficult to open up and trust people. Twight's character arch is precisely about trust and vulnerability and that's one of the issues that pushes the story forward.

So, even though I would love to see Twiyor kiss like in many fics, this will take time. Maybe it's not as obvious because there's not a lot of physical contact between them (yet 😏), but there's definitely progress in their relationship (more on that here and here).

The development of their relationship is so beautiful! Can you see it too? On one side, we have a man who lost everything and thinks of himself only as a tool for peace slowly regaining his humanity through love. On the other hand, we have an innocent woman turned into a weapon, who is slowly realizing she's much more than that, and getting to know herself while falling in love. Come on!!! You don't want to miss that!

Even though it may take a while to get there, I think it's one of those things worth the wait.

Now Damianya in my opinion is about innocence and the development of a deep friendship.

Talking specifically about chapter 96, to me, it makes sense that Anya's secret slipped out. I don't think she consciously decided to tell Damian. I believe it just kind of slipped out because:

1.It's easier for kids to trust other kids and open up.

2. This is the second time Damian guessed her secret.

3. They are kindred spirits; they both were "abandoned" children (Anya while she was in the orphanage, Damian by his family) and they both seek the approval and love of their father.

4. She often uses her abilities in front of Damian and he pays enough attention to her to realize something is off.

Let me ask you something: have you ever been forced to keep a secret?

Keeping a secret is a heavy burden, isn't it? Can you imagine a 5 year old carrying that kind of burden for so long? It doesn't help that Anya was returned to the orphanage by several different families. It's implied in the story that Anya used her telepathic abilities and the other families considered her too strange too keep her. This is the reason why Anya has kept quiet: she doesn't want to be abandoned again.

Still, it must be hard for her to carry that and to feel that people wouldn't accept her exactly for who she is if they knew about her secret. So, I'm happy she was able to tell someone. In some ways, her arch is similar to Twilight's: Anya is also learning it's okay for people to see her real self and trust they will still love her. I hope that in the future, Anya learns that she can trust her parents too and I think trusting someone else is a big step into that direction.

I know it will also take some time, but I can't wait for both stories (and all the stories) in sxf to merge into one. It'll be a very exciting time or everyone when that happens.

genuinely partially agree with the people on twitter

nobody NEEDS a pillow collection that says "live laugh love", especially when they are never used as actual pillows

it's like buying an off-road car as a farmer and keeping it in the garage to only be looked at and admired

having things with form over function in mind is a luxury problem that wouldn't be a thing in a not classist environment in which you constantly compete with everyone else about who has the perfect life

i also think that if you still disagree, you probably have lost control over your own life choices, or may have never had any

Well, guess I’m never flying Boeing again. If they’re willing to kill a guy over it, it must be even worse than we already realize.

I didn't know anyone had a choice over what plane to use when flying commercial

Apparently you can, though your only real other option is Airbus. Not sure if they’re actually any better just because they haven’t been in the news.

These problems are in the 737 Max series, and they are huge. However, if you fly old other Boeing models (727, 757, 777, whatever) they had appropriate oversight in their certification process. Even the other 737 models are safe (100 through 900, classic and next generation).

Boeing was, basically, allowed to oversee its own certification process with the 737 Max. The FAA said "sure, we trust you. you can do it yourself, we don't have to check" and Boeing said "great! we'll do whatever we want then, since we're too big to fail and you can't stop us." Remember the Lion Air crash? Same plane. Boeing blamed it on the airlines "bad training" while conveniently leaving out the part where they added an entire new system to the autopilot without telling anyone about it. It had a single point of failure, that point failed, and it killed everyone on board.

So if you want to avoid this plane and its dangers (very fair), avoid the 737 Max. Most airlines will have the plane scheduled for the route listed when you book the ticket, and most will allow you to change the flight if you have an objection to the aircraft used. Be aware that sometimes planes are changed out on the route between booking and the flight (due to maintenance, crews or whatever else) so double check if it really concerns you. With the apps available, you should have almost minute to minute updates on what plane is being used.

Boeing is in for a storm and they deserve it, don't get me wrong. But the 737 series has been the safest commercial jet for decades, and there's no reason to throw the planes that were properly engineered and certified. Avoid the 737 Max, and you can still feel safe riding on any other Boeing jet.

And raise hell. Boeing should suffer for the harm they've caused and no aircraft manufacturer should ever get to do their own oversight again.

So disgusting. If I die during pregnancy and some greedy journalist tries to make my story support abortion, I will beg God to let my spirit come back and haunt their ass.
