memorizing a poem builds a little creature in your head that remembers all of its own parts by itself. and why would you do that? well, you can key every line or word to an associated concept, like grafting lots of imaginary limbs onto the creature, so that when you summon it it fetches all those other results, too... but some poems are simply good company
