The Way He Loves You

Title : The way he loves you (Ficlet) Poe Dameron X G/N Reader Word count: 600 (ish) Rating: T Warnings : None. Just a lot of fluff!

Summary: Poe tries to pick the moment he fell in love with you.

------------

If you asked Poe Dameron to pinpoint when and how he fell in love with you, he'd smile and lapse into silence, trying to think of the exact moment.

Perhaps it was the first time you smiled back at him across the yard. The way you had been so distracted by meeting his gaze, that you'd tripped over your own feet, landing in a heap at the nose of your ship. He’d been impressed with the way you'd gotten up and dusted yourself off. And the fact that even though your cheeks flushed with embarrassment, you still managed to give him another bright grin, before disappearing across the base.

Or it could have been the moment he heard your laughter across the cantina, where you sat with friends, wiping tears from your eyes. The way you doubled over, begging them to stop because it hurt. The way long after the joke had ended, you suddenly burst into laughter again, causing the whole table to dissolve into hysterics with you.

It might have been the day you'd helped him fix the damage on his X-Wing. The way you spoke to the ship like it was your patient, calmly and softly, stitching and bandaging the damage until it came up like new. The way you hummed while you worked, lost in your own world. The way you only paused when your fingers had brushed against his, suddenly quietly shy. The way you'd held your hand there for just a moment, in no rush to move.

A/N: Hello all you beautiful people. So this little thing appeared out of thin air. Apparently, it’s loving Javi hours in this house. I’m stretching my little writer muscles and this so graciously decided to come about as a result. So yay for that 😊

Update: So as of today 7/20/21 this little nugget has been revamped a bit. I wasn’t happy with it before, it felt disjointed. It still feels a tiny bit disjointed at some points, but I think I’ve worked out the main issues that made me not like it so much. But anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Pairing: Javier Peña x F!Reader

Warnings: Insecurities, doubt, very vague allusion to smut. Mostly just soft pining and mush.

Word Count: 707

About Dave York, he is not a psychopath.

He kills people for a living? Yes. But there’s nothing in canon that even suggests he is a bad person, aside from the professional assassin stuff. He is loving with his wife and kids, he is polite with the other team members, etc.

I think Dave is a soldier through and through. He was trained, conditioned and decorated to/for killing people following superior orders. Before, it was under the government and now a private corporation. I watched the movie with my dad (who loves Denzel Washington) and I was horrified at Robert’s actions. He is the worst with the whole “punisher” mentality/discourse and only caring because someone he knew was killed. He was moved by a distorted sense of justice and petty revenge. McCall is a hypocrite who conveniently ignores how he is also a trained killer. Does killing in the name of a country make it right somehow?

Dave York was a husband and a father and yes, a person who did some terrible things. I think he was the end result of a much bigger problem inside the US military and it’s treatment of veterans. Did he deserve to be gruesomely killed for those things? Absolutely not. His family didn’t deserve to mourn that loss either.

I kept watching McCall and thinking about Dave’s daughters. About his wife never knowing what happened, his body may never even be found after that storm. Is there a worse pain of simply not knowing where a loved one is?
