So I know I haven’t  posted in forever but I just realized that Yamato’s 2020 clothes are almost exactly the inverse colours of his 1999 clothes and I thought it’s be fun to share

Also Tachi's undershirt and overshirt are inverse to each other in the original

the & tag on ao3 is for friendship, so the 75 “Yamato & Taichi” fics wouldn’t count as fics for the ship

“Accepted, though I know several writers who don't always tag right as they are unfamiliar with the system.” - DeAlice

"I'm sorry I'm gonna be an ass, but I my OCD compels me to wear my "practicing scientist hat" to point out a few thing. First of all, the title of the chart is misleading, because there isn't a 1:1 ratio between fanfiction writers and the number of fics. Rather, sum of fics > sum of writers since usually you'll have a writer posting several fics.

Then there's the fact AO3 didn't exist in 2002.

And finally, for some reason, AO3 has two Taichi/ Yamato categories, one with 307 stories, and one with 75 stories, making them the dominant ship by an insignificant margin as 382>335:

In the image, we can clearly see  Takari has the third largest story count, so I'm not sure OP used all the tools in their arsenal, but just in case they weren't aware it was an option, it's possible to filter by ship on AO3, thus eliminating any need for sample sizing (all the relevant data is available).

So the most accurate way to name the chart would be: "most prolific writers in the digimon fandom by ship (AO3)

Otherwise, great pie. Perfect for pride month ^^” - DeAlice

Mixing up the Digimon Characters

I’d like to pose the question to the Digimon fandom, if you could take one or two character/s from a sequel season and place them into the Digimon Adventure 01 season who would it be? Who do you think would mix in best with the original 8?

I think Juri would mix in really well with the original team. I love the idea of Junpei as well but am unsure if he would work well with the dynamic of the original 8 characters, but it’s kinda cool to think of what digimon I’d give him (full disclosure I’ve often fantasized about a version of Frontier where they have partners, I think Junpei should have a machine type digimon).

If we include 02 characters into this game then I also think Ken would have blended real well into the original season, and honestly you could just age him up a little, replace Devimon with the digimon emperor, and you could incorporate him into season one without having to even change much of the major story beats. Iori is also someone I think could easily mix in with the original 8 on his own.

Thoughts? I’ve been thinking about this a lot since the reboot (I’m also finally getting around to watching Xros Wars and will then give Appmon a go).

I’m gonna say it, if Junpei had of been better used in Frontier I think I would have really liked him. Jumpei is a very unique and really has no other character in the digimon universe quite like him, in my opinion. Kinda wonder what digimon he would have suited had he gotten a partner. I'm leaning towards a machine type cause he's got an aptitude for engineering. Actually people often overlook that he is the Koushiro of Frontier, but instead of being good with computers, he often engineers contraptions.

Honestly, my opinion is that him and Juri (arguably Iori as well) are the only two characters introduced after Adventure 01 that are completely novel in terms of personality, instead of heavily borrowing characteristics from the original 8 children.

Random Hawkmon appears

Okay so i’m watching this movie called “it had to be you” (no idea if it’s any good). 3:39 minutes in there is a scene with a piano and there is a hawkmon stuffie on top of it. I can’t screen shot it for some reason but it made me pause and laugh cause I love finding Digimon references in random media

In Honor of Kyoto Animation

After these horrifying news, I’ve decided to do a recap on KyoAni’s main titles from their foundation until now as a homage for its staff, especially the victims and their families. We don’t know where the studio will be going from now, but we do know of its journey until the present moment. There were hits and there were misses, but it overall deserves appreciation now more than ever.

This is going to be a bit long but they deserve it all and more.

Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magikarte (2002)

Inuyasha Movies 1 to 3 (2001-2003)

Munto (2003-2009)

Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu/TSR (2003-2006)

Air (2005)

Kanon (2006)

Clannad (2007-2009)

Suzumiya Haruhi (2006-2010)

Lucky Star (2007-2008)

K-ON! (2009-2011)

Nichijou (2011)

Hyouka (2012)

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (2012-2018)

Tamako Market (2013-2014)

Free! (2013-present)

Kyoukai no Kanata (2013-2015)

Amagi Brilliant Park (2014-2015)

Hibike! Euphonium (2015-present)

Musaigen no Phantom World (2016)

Koe no Katachi (2016-2017)

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (2017)

Violet Evergarden (2018-present)

Tsurune (2018-2019)

Personally, part of me wants to believe that these people will continue living through their creations, but what’s been done to them is unforgivable. We all know that this will definitely affect current and future projects of the studio, but let’s show only support for the survivors until they’re able to get back on track.

Stay strong, KyoAni!!
