“Ahah...” He let’s out a quiet, breathy laugh: on the surface, it sounds shy, maybe even a little nervous, as if he’d only just now realized what he’d been saying aloud. It angers him, when he witnesses atrocities... it doesn’t matter if he sees them in person or broadcast on the news, but what did matter was going off on a bit of a tangent when he’s not wearing the correct mask. He seems to reel himself back in, hand raising to bashfully brush hair from his face. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ramble off. News reports like this are pretty controversial, huh?” If half the students in his school witnessed him speaking up on behalf of the Japanese people, or even calling them Japanese instead of Elevens, he’s sure things would get complicated. “I guess I have more thoughts on it than I figured.”
He can’t really leave it at that, though, can he. Whether it be because of his conscientious or something more selfish, that’s a strange way to trail off. He’s supposed to be lazy and indifferent, though, so it really shouldn’t matter.
“Maybe you’re right.” This much he can manage. “If someone feels so strongly about something, talking isn’t enough, is it? If I really wanted to change things, I’d get up and do something about it.” The irony is astronomical, but who would know? “I’m just one person, though. What difference could I really make?”
