Also there are not a lot of countries that put traitors to death nowadays. And not believing in the current law of a country is not the definition for treason anyway. Following that logic anti-democrats would have to be punished for high treason everywhere around the globe. Comitting violent acts against the goverment or sharing military information with enemies is punishable as treason, not having your own believes.
