PERMANENT HIATUS.

 A SOFT GASP sounded as her gaze was ripped from the solemnity of the ring in her palm, fingers closing over it in possessive fear; SOMEONE was in her chambers, and these days any visitor was often an unwelcome burden. Her gaze strained against the dim darkness of the cold, stone room, her fire had begun to dwindle in its hearth, and she’d long since found the will to care.                ❛ Who’s there? ❜ she called out, voice much meeker than she wished for it to be, but what more could be expected of her? She was stricken with grief, a slave to loneliness, and fearful of her husband’s every visit. Her fist, still clamped securely over the ring (as it were) that would have bound her to Daniel forever, began to tremble as she turned her back to the large, arching window to take a step further into the expanse of her given room. She knew she had heard something, footfalls, she believed. Maybe even a delighted little laugh. She truly did hope she wasn’t going mad, though she wouldn’t imagine anyone could blame her if she were. Summoning as much confidence as she was capable of exuding, she stood tall and defiant against the shadows.                                 ❛ I know you’re there. ❜

         ❛     well ... that was the plan.     ❜         his voice did little to constrain the amusement he held,  and from the darkest corner of the room he emerged.  without so much as looking in the other’s direction,  he began to survey his surroundings,  peering over the royal decor with little interest.  all of this,  of course,  was to disguise the fact that all focus was on her.  the lovely queen.             he always was finding friends in high places.
