John sighed heavily when Cris didn't answer her phone. He had been calling and texting her for awhile now and he was starting to get annoyed with her. He hated it when she didn't answer her phone like she was supposed to and he became more angry as time passed. John decided to fly home to the tower to see if he could find her and personally question her about why she isn't answering her phone. He has looked around the tower for her and he made his way to their shared apartment and room.

John was furious when he found Cris. "Where were you? I have been calling and texting you and you haven't answered me. What if it was an emergency, are you just going to ignore me like that?" He thought it was unfair and then he thought of another reason why she could ignoring him. "Who were you with?" John accused her of cheating without saying it out loud.

What a shitshow of a day. It seemed from the moment Cristina stepped out of bed that there was some kind of emergency that required her attention. Emergency was a loose term though considering that America’s greatest heroes whined and cried about every bump and bruise they received on the job and she was expected to fix it. It was one injury after another that left Cristina scrambling for time to heal herself as well, so much so that she had entirely forgotten that she abandoned her phone in her office at the start of her day without realizing that John may have been trying to get in touch with her.

When he finally found her, she was standing at the kitchen counter, smearing peanut butter on crackers to get a makeshift lunch in before someone else pulled her for her attention or abilities. “Everyone’s been getting hurt today,” she explained around a mouthful of peanut butter and crumbs. Cristina finally reached for her cup of coffee and took a sip to clear her tongue to speak clearly. “Noir, mostly,” she told him, rolling her eyes. Truly, she was too busy to even eat, much less have an affair. “I have another appointment in ten minutes.”
