Update (more for documentation and myself than anything else)

The application I made was unsuccessful. It was a better, higher paying role at the gallery I talked about a few posts back but I honestly think it’s for the best. The whole experience has been interesting and has truly brought out the best in me.

I’ve got my eyes latched on a new job else were so I’m wanting to use my energies for that instead 🤍✨

When I’m organizing my shelves, there’s always a group of books that fill me with dread.

The books that have seen me from childhood to adulthood. The books I’ll peek into in the dead of night and find my favorite scenes. The books I’ve read and read and read until their poor spines are dust… I can hardly open Interview with the Vampire without another page threatening to fall out…

The books I’m too embarrassed to admit I still have. My guilty pleasures.

Does anyone else have a shelf dedicated to these kinds of reads? Do they stay separate from your collection or do you mix them into your categories?

Aww, don’t be embarrassed, these are all great books that are absolutely worthy of being on your shelf!!

Hamilton, all next to a figurine of Sailor Pluto from Sailor Moon.]

Miniaturist Perfectly Recreates Historical Interiors at a Staggering 1:12 Scale

On his popular Instagram account, artist Chris Toledo shares ornate interiors and bathroom remodels. There is one distinct difference, however, between his handiwork and the type of thing you’d find on Pinterest. All of Toledo’s interiors are miniaturized at a 1:12 scale. If it weren’t for his hand cramming into the small spaces—or a full-sized toothbrush towering in the bathroom or a real head of garlic taking up half the kitchen—you’d never realize how tiny these places are; his details are just that impeccable.

Anyone who makes or ever made models from kits (raises hand) will appreciate the work involved in creating these from scratch…

Here’s his website and a Boredpanda article.

essayisms

Found myself stagnating with my essay. I was getting distracted, felt I had run out of things to say and in stubbornness was forcing myself to keep chipping away at it in painful slowness. That wasn’t getting me anywhere efficiently. So I’ve ended up taking a break from that one and moving onto my next essay. And for whatever reason switching essay topics kicked my brain into action and as I wrote up my lecture notes and categorised my arguments I found my head bursting with ideas and arguments.

First day of lectures is over!

It’s a bit rough for me, as a teacher, to teach to dark squares, but I don’t want to force anyone to use their camera because I don’t know what their situation is. At least we had some good audio interactions. I hope things go well with my two other groups on Wednesday.
