The old school lack of transparency on tumblr is amazing because you assume the people you follow must all be equivalent to you and then you see someone write “I brought my youngest to college today” and someone else write “my mom wouldn’t let me listen to Ariana Grande when I was a kid” and then your head explodes

It goes the other way, too, because WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE A CHILD?!!

I'm 16, that's like, barely a child

I'm in my 30s. You are baby

I'm older than both of you in a trenchcoat.

honestly one of the best things we can do for ourselves is realize that people of different ages than us can still be the same kind of person as us. it's humbling and it gives everyone involved a sense of continuity, and it busts those stupid generational stereotypes media is so fond of.

Thank you!

7. The plot of the first fanfic I ever wrote: Wrote or published? Lol. The first one I ever wrote was a rather piss poor Draco/Ginny fic where Draco realizes Ginny is the only pureblood witch his age that isn't closely related to him and tries to decide if that means he'd date her. It never saw the light of day, lol. As for published, I believe it was also a Draco/Ginny fic where he stalks her.

17. What is my favorite line I've written: it varies, but currently it's probably: Its times like these she can see why it was so easy for Kisa to fall in love with him. I've held onto it through the many edits of my post-season three fic. So it's probably my favorite at the moment.

20. What's my favorite trope to write: Is What-if canon AUs a trope? No? Ok then. Good communication, the opposite of miscommunication. Otherwise I don't know that I have a favorite trope to write. I rather like writing in AUs based on other fandoms. I don't post a lot of them, but I enjoy thinking of them and writing them.

31. A character I find an absolute joy to write: I rather like being in Seth's head, his POV is just fun. I also love adding Richie to a scene, he's got great presence in them and makes a great catalyst.

58. Last thing I had to google when writing a fic: Probably some type of gun, but the last thing I can say for sure that I googled was exactly how long heroine withdrawal lasts. I mean, I've googled various facts about the show since then; Seth and Richie's car in season one, where certain characters were at what times, the names of various background characters, etc. But the last factoid I remember googling is that.

You know what really fucking Annoys Me about internet censorship is stuff like swear words being heavily censored because that's entirely an American cultural hangup being forced on the rest of us. I don't know a single country where swearing is as taboo as it is in America. In fact most languages have swear words that would have the same effect on an American as giving a Victorian chimney sweep a pepsi max cherry.

Demonitizing Irish people's videos for having swear words in them is a kind of hate crime and psychological torture I think.
