Kamiizuni nodded in understanding. “I’ll make sure to let her know to be very careful with the book…and if really does get badly wrecked, I’ll buy you a new copy if needed.”

“No, she should pay for it if she damages it. You can’t coddle her, Kamiizumi.” He frowned. “It will be a good lesson.”

“It’s international women’s day~!” Ringabel smiles with as much charm as he can muster, “to all the lovely ladies out there! Be safe today!”

If Ringabel had an Epithet Erased AU he would definitely have the Epithet Alternate.

As Alternis he would be Nova class S: 11, P: 13, C: 13

However, after watching all his Friends die he uses his Out Class skill and Alternates the whole world around him, himself included.

Now Ringabel, he is still Nova class, S: 13 P: 11 C: 14, but hides it behind his playboy persona.

I would have suggested taking the “subway,” but it’s not exactly roomy. Nor particularly high-visibility. Alternately, I could “persuade” someone into handing over an affordable vehicle, or I could offer one of My steeds.”
Ringabel asks if he can spend the night at His temple, and Dardanos smiles, flaunting his pearly, perfect fangs. “Aww, the little Hopper missed Me. Very well, Ringabel. Granted.”

“I don’t like cramped spaces. Nor am I fond of being underground.” Then he does laugh, “No, it’s fine. I think I’ll just walk. I don’t really mind it all that much.”

He returns the smile. “Of course I did, aside from Miss Brenda you were one of my first friends here. And two years is a long time to be away from friends.” He would know. He missed his old friends constantly.

Kamiizumi nodded in understanding. “That does sound very nice…I would love to read it.” He managed. He wondered if his own father would enjoy reading that, as well. It seemed fairytale-like enough. And it sounded like something Minette might enjoy, too…
“I’ll do my best to make sure cat hair doesn’t get on the book if I do end up borrowing it from you.”

“It’s very sweet. In a bitter way.” He pulled out his journal and made a note on a blank page. “Without going too far in detail, It has a happy ending for the Pilot, But the Prince doesn’t get so lucky.”

Or maybe the Prince was just lucky enough? Perhaps the snake’s venomous bite really did reunite The Little Prince with his Rose...

“If Minette so much as gets a claw mark on my book I’ll have her pay me back ten-fold.”

Avatar
Kamiizumi couldn’t help but chuckle at that. “I don’t think the children will think too much of those aspects…I hope. As for The Little Prince, I don’t think I’ve heard of that one before. What is it about? Other than a prince being the main character, given the title of that tale.”

“The book starts with the narrator, a pilot crashing into a desert with only 8 days of provisions to survive. While trying to fix his plane he meets a young boy, The Little Prince. The book is mostly the Pilot studying the Little Prince as the boy recounts his adventures through the stars on a mission to find out how to love a beautiful rose that grew on his home planet.”

“It’s quite an interesting read. Perhaps I’ll lend you my copy.”

You’ll find it one day, Hopper. And you’ll know when you do.”
He’d known where His own was a long time ago. Being a God, His soul was in the hearts of His Flock, the little blessings going about their days and praising Him by breathing and loving and tending to their fields.

I have a few suggestions, but about half of them you wouldn’t like, so I’ll keep my mouth shut. But, sometimes it’s nice to just walk. Or…whatever locomotion you’re using.” He wiggles his tail, sticking out his tongue.

“Well I am open to your suggestions no matter what they are, but you can’t be offended if I laugh at them. I could use some levity right now.”

He crosses his arms.

“Dardanos, while I’m sure it’s no trouble, would you mind if I spent the night in your temple? I’m not too fond of walking all the way back to my apartment, and It might be nice to spend more time with you.” Plus he couldn’t deny that the day he’d dozed off in there was one of the most peaceful rests he’d had in years.

You can only hope, little Hopper.” Small, cute, sweet little Hopper.
Reminded him of an acolyte He let into His coils so long ago.
Oh, if you’re going to do that, at least let me have my fun before you put his lights out for good. Old Red seems to not like the taste of his own medicine.”

“I’d imagine not. Considering the ‘medicine’ he peddles...”

Ringabel chuckles, “Well, if I ever enact my master plan to rid the worlds of DeRosa forever I’ll let you know. Perhaps we can team up to make it really stick.”

Kamiizumi nodded. He did have the understanding that Ringabel was, in fact, an alternate version of the Alternis he knew in this world (except with initial amnesia), so he supposed that did make sense.
“It’s a good book.” He managed. “And I think it resonates with all ages, in some way. I agree with that idea.” He paused, then blurted out, “That was a tale my father told me, actually. He loved fairytales.”

“I think I could do without the murderous mermaids, child endangerment, and psychopathic flying child, but yes. It can resonate with all ages.” He closed his eyes.

“I think, if we’re discussing fairy tales that have themes that resonate, I’m quite fond of The Little Prince. Have you heard of that one?”
