“i can’t do this anymore” says a girl who is not only going to do it but do it well
“Where does unbelief begin? / When I was young // there were degrees of certainty. / I could say, Yes I know that I have two hands. / Then one day I awakened on a planet of people whose hands / occasionally disappear –”
— Anne Carson, from “The Glass Essay,” Glass, Irony, and God (via lifeinpoetry)

Bedside table reads:
One book that’s lived here for two years
One short story collection where I didn’t like the first one and never continued
One interesting non-fiction one that I’m never in the mood for
One big fat classic I’m genuinely excited to start but haven’t
One extremely readable, plotty page turner that I started yesterday and will finish tonight
One library book that I need to return
One I’m actually reading properly- my ‘main’ book
What are you reading?
I think it's a sign of good media when you have to reread or rewatch it to get the full experience. First time is for getting your brain blasted by the story and being confused second time is for knowing who's who and what's what and willingly getting your brain blasted again.
fucking love when I'm on a call with someone and they start to do a little errand or go somewhere else and they say "and you're coming with me" like. absolutely I am let's go on an adventure I've been spirited away
