I don’t think Disney actually gets why everyone is so upset about Ben Solo. 

He was the first non-toxically masculine and emotionally vulnerable male character in a big movie franchise. He was a byronic hero and was a character that was written incorporating the female and queer audience. Also incorporated the men who were relentlessly ridiculed for having any amount of emotional intelligence and vulnerability growing up. He cried. He held the hand of his lover and told her that she wasn’t alone. He begged her for companionship. He was human and loving. He wasn’t a caricature “villain,” just a broken boy who was hiding behind a mask to protect himself. 

And then you kept the pew pew flyboy alive to satisfy the dudebros and killed off the actually complex and well-rounded male character. 

That is sickening.

In the end, she has to hand it to him— he’d always been an expert in taking her by surprise, and it would appear that he’s chosen not to shake the habit even in death.

“Rey Skywalker?” There’s a vaguely sardonic twist to the corner of his mouth. “Does that make you my cousin now?”

“It seemed like a fitting tribute,” she says in wooden tones. Be it dream or vision, she might as well play along— draw this out until reality comes crashing back. Who knows when he’ll come to her again as solid and as vibrant as this?

“I see.” Suddenly he’s leaning into her, their faces so close together. “Tell me,” he murmurs, his lips almost brushing against hers, “have you ever heard of the term kissing cousins?”

She registers the smell of alcohol on his breath at the same time that his eyes flutter shut and he slumps face-down into her lap, snoring softly. You’re alive, is all she can think at first, staring down at his head of lush black hair.

Ben Solo is alive.

Alive and very, very drunk.

I feel like JJ actually wanted f*nrey to happen from the beginning, but Rian stomped that right out with the intimate, tumultuous mess of an emotional relationship Kylo and Rey were given in TLJ. So, stuck with what Rian did, he gave us a kiss (with NO BUILD UP!!) and baited the shit out of f*nrey

I didn’t see finnrey as an attempt at romance, but as a brotp moment. And everyone has said that Finn was going to tell Rey that he felt the force too. Including in the movie. Finn tells Poe that he can feel the force but it went over Poe’s head.

I’ve got the idea that the ‘two are one’ is literal. Ben and Rey literally became one. Like the daughter and Ahsoka, in Mortis and later expounded on a bit in Rebels. And there’s a chance for him to come back. A dyad with that much power, they can heal and rejuvenate, and since he passed into Rey instead of into the force, he can come back.

But then when Poe asks him if he'll say what he was going to say to Rey when they're with the firing squad, Finn refuses to answer.

Like, he thinks they're going to die, why would he tell her "I feel the force too!" at that moment? Confessing things before death is definitely a trope, and the audience's first thought is going to go to "oh he likes her" and not "he wants to tell her he's force sensitive too". It was 100% intentional to seem like a love confession and it was hella baity.

Another thing to get mad about, they cut three songs out of the final soundtrack including Coming Together. I'm just going to say it, John Williams was given a movie where Ben Solo was meant to live and JJ changed the ending.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse.

Let me know, why they decided to make Finn inlove with Rey after giving him a love interest in the last movie.

WHAT WAS THE REASON

Not only did they act like the last movie didn’t happen with Rose but they also did her so dirty. Why didn’t she go with them on the mission? Why did Finn not talk about her once? Why the fuck did Rose only have literally two lines.

I’m upset.

UPDATE: it’s been confirmed that Finn was trying to tell Rey he is force sensitive but honestly they didn’t do a good job at making it seem like that’s what he wanted to say.

is it because of my period? is it because tis winter? is it because of my regular depression?
