Couple’s main theme: They don’t know about us (One Direction)

Briar Daly, Beatrice Foredale’s best friend ever, moves to Edgewater in the summer of 2005. As the closest thing Beatrice has as a family, Briar’s mother, Parvati Daly, is invited by the Earl to work as a seamstress at Edgewater (read the  fic ‘The proposal’). Mother and daughter live in a small cottage on the property, but spend most of their day at the mansion. Briar Daly often sleeps over with Beatrice.

As they grow older, Edmund and Briar realize there is something stronger between them that they decide to explore, despite the insecurities on both sides.

Despite their young age, they have no doubts that what they have is real, and they see future for them. However, they fears the prejudices of their families could separate them. So the couple decides to live their a beautiful young love story.

When she came in Dominique’s private room to get sheet music, Beatrice noticed an oak box on the table. The family crest was engraved on the lid.

The key was in the lock. It was irresistible not to peek inside. Beatrice carefully opened the old wooden box. Relying majestically on a blue velvet bed, the famous family jewels. Beatrice had only seen it in photographs and paintings. Made of eight sapphires and dozens of diamonds,  the tiara seemed to light up the entire room.

“Holy cow! This is worth more than the entire Grovershire!”

Beatrice took the tiara in her hands. It was heavy. She was about to try it on when heard the sound of the door opening. The girl quickly put it back in the box, but the Dowager Countess still saw her close it.

“They are exquisite, aren’t they?”

“If I had known what it was, I wouldn’t have opened it, I’m sorry, Grandmother.”

“You must learn to control your curiosity. It doesn’t dignify a lady.“ Beatrice blushed.  “A jeweller from London is coming here to clean them this afternoon. They only can come out of the walls of Edgewater in the head of a lady of the house.”

Notes:

💕 English is not my first language. Please, excuse me for any typos /or grammatical errors. 💕 Special thanks to @secretaryunpaid and @storyofmychoices. As usual, moments with Sunny are dedicated to @jeanele.💕 This is my submission for @choicesficwriterscreations ‘Fics of the week’

Lost in his thoughts, Ernest was on his way to Earl’s office. Turning the corner, the young man saw a bizarre figure running toward him. When it got closer, he recognized it was Sunny. The energetic pug had something on top of his head.

Beatrice was running after the pug. “Sinclaire stop him!” she yelled down the hall.

Ernest grabbed Sunny and picked him up. He lifted the dog to his face and studied it carefully. Sunny was wearing a knitted bonnet. As if that wasn’t bizarre enough, the bonnet had two hearts, one on each side of the pug ears.

“What kind of torture is she inflicting to you, buddy?” Ernest asked the dog. The pug licked his nose.

Meanwhile, Beatrice reached them, panting. “Thank you, Sinclaire. I have been chasing him for a while,” she thanked, taking Sunny from his arms, “Sorry, baby. I need to take another picture. Don’t close your eyes this time… Can you do that for me, please?’ Beatrice asked, matching her puppy eyes and kissing the dog’s head. “Sinclaire, make yourself useful and hold him again to take the pictures.” The girl took several photos until she was satisfied with the final result. “Take two steps back, Sinclaire… That’s it… Perfect! Thank you, you were a great assistant!”

“What are you doing to the poor creature?”

A Texting Relationship

Characters - Ethan Ramsey and Anupriya Valentine

Rating -  General

(Something Short I came up with on the spot)

A relationship that survived through text messages. That was what their relationship had become, that young beautiful thing had become what she was beginning to feel was a causality of modern technology. She missed his voice speaking sweet things in her ear late at night. She desperately missed seeing his smiling face every morning. She missed the hugs that swept her off of her feet. Missed it all. A relationship through text messages. The kisses she missed those. She looked at her friends around her with their perfect couples. They had it all. Her closest friends wondered if she should just end the entire relationship. It was just hurting her, hurting him.

If she was being honest that very thought came to her mind once. Just once, for less then thirty seconds and those thirty seconds were the worst of her life. Never again would those thoughts ever enter her mind. The pain that it would cause would be too much. Not only to herself, because it would kill her, but the worst part would be hurting him that she couldn't handle. That pain would be more then her desire to hear his voice saying hello instead of just reading it in a text. She sighed out loud and chewed on the straw to her iced tea. She had to finish reading her book for class but all she could focus on was the bound of her phone chirping signaling the next text message. The café and street were busy today, the sound filled her ears as she took her iPod from her ears.

Planning A Scene In A Story

– A lot of you have asked questions pertaining to a struggle with planning scenes, so I’ve decided to make a little rundown of questions to answer before writing a new scene of your story. Obviously, you probably won’t end up going through this process over and over again until the end of your writing career, as this will become like a second nature to you as you continue to practice it. If you have any further questions, my ask box is always open. Happy writing!

Intention

  • How is the setting of the scene relevant to the events that take place?
  • Is this scene easy to follow with the information given to the reader?
  • What role do past events play into this scene?
  • How will the events in this scene shift the story toward the resolution?
  • Does this scene solve any plot holes or create any new ones?

Purpose

  • What is the overall purpose this scene serves?
  • How will this scene progress the plot?
  • How will this scene help to develop your character(s)?

Information

  • What information is this scene supposed to reveal to the reader?
  • What information is required to make this scene make sense?

Subtext

  • Are there any hidden messages you need to plan beforehand?
  • Is there any foreshadowing taking place during this scene?
  • What context might alter the implications of this scene?
  • What consequences might come from the events of this scene?

Starting Point

  • Does this starting point make sense for the trajectory of the scene?
  • Does the starting point allow room for some rising action?
  • Is your scene starting abruptly or with a build up to a large event?
  • Is there space between the beginning of this scene and the last?
  • If there is, are there any blanks you need to fill in to continue?

Tone

  • What is the main way you’ll be conveying tone in the context of the scene’s events?
  • How do you want the tone to impact the reader’s experience?
  • Does the tone change drastically in contrast with the last scene?

How Do You Want The Scene To Leave The Reader?

  • Do you want your reader to end the scene asking a bunch of questions?
  • Do you want one of the subplots to be resolved?
  • Do you want the reader to be shocked?
  • Do you want the reader to think, “Oh, that makes sense now”?

If you have any to add, feel free to leave them in the comments down below to help each other out!

The Bogart Diaries #23: Trouble (Part Two)

Characters: Thomas Hunt, Alex, Bogart Hunt (dog), Addison Sinclair Book: Red Carpet Diaries [Hunt x F!OC] Word Count:  ~1,100 Rating: General/Fluff, with slight angst Prompt: costume ~ @choicesoctoberchallenge

Synopsis: After Thomas said he wasn't going to wear a Halloween costume to match Bogart, Alex found a loophole. (Alex has secretly had a Pictagram account for Bogart since his adoption, despite Thomas saying no. [fic]) This follows Trouble (Part One) .

A/N: The stunning art in the edit is by the always incredible @vantaray (been holding onto this for a while now!) I always knew this was the post that would be the one to get Thomas's attention to discover Bogart's account, I just needed to figure out the occasion!

Alex chewed the corner of her lip, heat rising in her cheeks. "All good things come to an end." She pressed a kiss to Bogart's head, tossing her phone on the table in front of her. "We might be in trouble."

The loyal black lab rested his head in her lap. A soft whimper escaped him as he sensed her anxiety.

She couldn't bring herself to pick up her phone from the coffee table, and yet, she couldn't take her eyes off of the red blinking light signifying new notifications. The screen illuminated a few times with his picture, as each time she ignored his calls.

Tell Me What You’re Thinking

Book: Open Heart

Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x F!MC (Keegan Reed)

Word Count: 1.1K

Summary: An extra moment between Ethan and Keegan while hiding in the Mass Kenmore supply closet during book 2 chapter 9.

Author’s Notes: Prompt request from my wonderful friend @rosebudde from this list! I honestly don’t know what this is, but I’m currently replaying book 2 of Open Heart sooo that’s where my mind was when I got this request😂

———

Keegan pulls Ethan into a nearby supply closet and closes the door. Their shoulders touching in the confined space.

“I haven’t hidden in a supply closet in almost a decade,” he says.

“You hid in supply closets? That’s kind of comforting.”

“Only during my intern year.”

“To cry or to make out?” Keegan asks, raising an eyebrow questioningly.
